Gooch, diamond, Embleton and Neil all look very tidy players to me. I would be willing to overlook the rawness of the latter three if they were to start regularly as we try and build something for the future.Yes was against 10 tiring men but that’s what I want to see from a midfielder. Scowen and Leads are tidy players but Embleton is a bit more exciting and direct. He’s good on the ball as well.
Wonder if we will ever see Gooch, Diamond and Embleton on pitch at same time? Much more energy, pace and directness.
Scowen or Leadbiitter playing deep together with Neil and with the other three further forward would provide a decent platform and the likes of McGeady and O'Brien can be rotated in periodically to add a bit of experience.
Rarely do you see a player as comfortable with either foot as him. The only example I can think of playing for us was Chris Makin. Two footed as well. The lad still has a lot of learning to do but he has a good starting point.
