Email about refund on international streaming pass

Mine still not showing active for 22-23 and no refund. I wonder if the fix is applied manually?
Oh actually I misread mine, I thought they were both this years as that’s how it looked last night. Hopefully you’re right and they’ve only cancelled one subscription then

Aye - I kept thinking we're in August not July! September 1 is plenty of time, assuming the refund goes through, and then the re-payment works the next time.

The multiple mistakes in the email raised some red flags, so came here - and found this thread!

My guess is that this is not an OG from Sunderland Admin, but hackers at work. But some communication from the club would be most welcome!

Same with me, paid with my foreign card and it has gone through ok. Only issue will now be when I obviously don't get refunded and I've now paid twice
Club shows me as having 2 live streaming passes when I log in, however I have had 2 emails cancelling my service. Right now the club is holding £280 of my hard earned... waiting a while before I do anything else.

Just checked my account and the International Pass for 2022 / 23 which used to be there is no longer listed. The entry for my payment is unchanged in the list of past purchases, which list also includes the details of the single game passes I purchased for these recent friendlies. I used PayPal. As of today, there is no refund in my PayPal account. Nor have I received a groveling apology. Has anyone? Is it just me beginning to think we have all been hacked? Surely someone at the club is following this thread and thinking 'it is time we explained this". Someone? Hello, are you there?. Where is HettonLass when you need her?

I don't think we've been hacked as when I checked the subscriptions on SAFSee, it originally said 'cancelled/refunded' or something along those lines - which it no longer does on mine.

SAFSee could have been hacked but if that were the case, would have expected response from club by now.

What a fuck on...... Was just about to buy..... luckily I read this thread!

25 years ago there were 14 Yr old kids chipping PlayStations and selling copied knock off games from their bedrooms with a more professional business set up than this.......

Mind you most of them are in the nick now.... 😁

If you want a bit of a laugh compose a reply/complaint on the topic of this thread to the email address suggested in the second email we all got. Yes, I already have. Take your blood pressure pills first mind.

"as you requested, your SAFC LIVE: 2022-23 International Streaming Pass (CANCELLED AND REFUNDED) has been terminated with immediate effect because Pass setup incorrectly.

If you need any further assistance or support, please get in touch with us at [email protected].

Kind regards the Sunderland AFC Team"

I would have expected a clarification from the club anyway. Right now I don't know if I have a subscription, or don't have a subscription or someone (the club) who has my bank details has been hacked.

That content will be pulled in the externally from streamamg servers surely. The whole “we cancelled because it was setup incorrectly” absolutely stinks of phishing.

I’m the suspicious type because I work in the cyber industry- I wouldn’t be touching the whole thing with a barge pole until there’s official word from the club.

It should be on the official club website under Latest News.

Not quite sure what's going on here (it's a bit over my head!) but the email does seem strange, and the lack of any sort of communication from the club isn't good. I've forwarded the thread to RAWA and I've asked if they can look into it and see if we can get some sort of a response from the club
It’s the lack of communication that’s frustrating.

I don’t mind that I’ve paid twice and have been refunded yet if I know the refund is on its way. But I don’t know if I need to pay a 3rd time or not as the last email I had said the 2nd payment was cancelled as well?

I’m not so worried about phishing. The email address we received the email from was a legit SAFC one, and the link brought us through to SAFC’s website. I know some are overly paranoid about these things but I checked it out before paying so I don’t think any should be concerned.

It would just be nice if within half a week of sending an erroneous email they sent out a retraction to reassure us that we have done the right thing, or if not what the right thing to do is 🤷🏻‍♂️

Cheers for your input though 🍻

I just emailed for clarification, and had an email back saying "we're sorry YOU have decided to cancel" ! What???

I really hope it isn't related to cyber criminality, I really do - but the club simply can't hide away from this. If there's been any breach of data they have 72 hours to report it (or face worse punishment) - also it just shows the danger of using sub-contractors to deal with aspects of your online business. I wouldn't put too much weight on it appearing to be a genuine SAFC email either - even if the email headers look like they're from the right place - streamamg may have arrangements in place to use safc.com email domain. Do we know if any other clubs use Streamamg? is any other club seeing similar behaviour?

All of this speculation and worry goes away, if someone at the club lets people know what is going on.
