Elopement wedding

Does anyone have any experience of one, I'm looking for recommendations of a venue please? I do enjoy going to a wedding but couldn't imagine having having a big one for us, I couldn't bare being the centre of attention all day. I know that will sound strange to some but the thought terrifies me

South Causey Inn

You might want to elope but you’ll still need to plan it well in advance, book the available date/time slot (waiting lists can be pretty long) and visit the registrar to have your notices put up…

By accident rather than design (due to Covid) I got married at Newcastle Civic Centre at 9am on a weekday morning. Only four people in attendance. It was great.

Not strange at all. I'd have a tiny wedding if I did it again.

I saw someone getting married in the little chapel at Gibside once. Thought that would be lovely. You can hire the banqueting house too. Everyone can stroll along the avenue afternoon and then have afternoon tea overlooking the pond. Be nice that 😎

Me and our lass (no) nicked off and got married in New York (Central Park). Paid $1500 all in for this location -

Was either that or go ahead with a £26k payment to the Belsfield in Bowness. Lols

Come on, what was the whole cost, you don’t just pay £26k for the venue. 👍

If it is just the two of you, just do it at City Hall and go for a meal afterwards.

Or Vegas.

Just me and the Mrs at ours with a couple of registry office staff as witnesses. It was perfect. A drive down to Gibraltar with a stop, along the way in Granada. A few nights in the Gibraltar Rock Hotel then a drive back up, (via Granada again). Our wedding, exactly the way we wanted it, with no family politics, no friends: nothing. Just the two of us.
