Would love to see more of him, I know its difficult at the moment what with both him and Malbranque being kept out the team by some good performances but christ he was on for less then 10 minutes, we were well under the cosh at the time and he still ran the ball a full 70 yards beating 2 men in the process and winning a throw in.

Had he got a bit more luck/confidence he may well have gone past Distan too and got himself almost straight through, from a starting position level with our own box.

He also got in to a cracking position unmarked centre of the goal which if Bent had squared it late on he would have had a tap in - All in very little time to make an impact

Very lucky that he wasnt stopped after 10 yards.

As another point he never tracks back, noticed it in every game he has played. Leaves nedum massively exposed.

I think, perhaps, that after the first 65 yards of the 'mazy' run his lucky rabbit foot and sprig of Egyptian heather fell out of his sock. How on earth he got that far I'll never know ( not at the game but it was all bobbles off shins and knees on the telly :) )

I agree it doesnt look pretty but I think there is more judgement in there then it looks, he does it so often it cant be pure fluke, I think more likely he runs direct at people and they shit themselves, then when the ball is bobbling around he is quite quick thinking and fleet footed and it allows him to carry on.

Not saying there isn't an element of luck, but likewise it is so regular that cant be purely down to that. There are some players who dont always look brilliant but have that annoying ability of coming out with the ball and I think its often just quick thinking and flexibility to read how a ball is going to bounce in a split second

I think he needs time to settle in, he doesn't seem to believe in himself enough sometimes also looks like he's in a constant state of shock or maybe that's just his eyebrows.

Yeah, I agree with this. Both times a player came to close him down he seemed to know what he was doing.

He actually beat the 2 men with 2 tackles...
HES SHIT

I thought he should have come on for Bolo when Steed did. At that stage we were looking quite decent on the break, and could have used him. His astoundingly good aerial ability also would have been very useful against Baines, would have given him something to think about. We have to play him when we play teams with short full-backs,

Not sure about that. I would have liked to see him on earlier, but I think we needed Steed on too, the game was crying out for someone like him. Steed on the left and Elmo on the right would have been good.

not lucky at all, hes done it to city and the arse. he just looks awkward when he does it  great to have a winger who consistently beats his man

Its definitely a part skill - Reo-Coker also has it to an extent - He never looks fully in control but is nearly always first to react when the ball is free and somehow comes out with it time and time again.

Incindentally Gordon was looking for him late on for a flick on header so the team obviously know its something we can exploit

That. He dominated Clichy in the air when we played Arsenal and could have bullied Baines if we'd hit some diagonal balls at him. Should have come on when Steed did.

why ? he is yet to do anything

He'll become a very good player for this football club, but obviously he needs time to fully adapt. I like what I've seen so far though.

See this is exactly the sort of shit that comes from the likes of clueless fuckwits like yourself. If he doesn't score 10 goals a season or chip in with 20 assists you think he's done nothing. If you actually knew anything about the game you'd know that we win possession from goal kicks and free kicks in our own half twice as much as we do without him in the team because he's excellent in the air. He creates a lot of space for Onouha to run into and has linked up well with him so far. He also has actually chipped in with a couple of assists and his cross V Manchester City was the cause of Richards bundling Bent over in the box.

It's not easy to adapt straight away to Premier League football but he has done very well so far.

Worried that your preferred position on the right wing will have permanently gone to Elmo by the time he's back from injury there Fraizer?

Don't worry, you won't be forced to play up front where you look a bit dodgy. there's 3 better players in that position now so it's well covered.
