Ellis Short - the worst thing to happen to SAFC in a near 140 year history

Yes it’s a travesty the way he’s overseen a huge investment in the club, and our longest unbroken spell in the top flight for decades.

People need to get a grip. He’s made mistakes in his managerial appointments and if he’s guilty of anything, it’s backing the wrong managers too far. However he’s not exactly turned a profit at the clubs expense. He’s the biggest loser out of everyone on the back of what’s happened.

Wowszer

Not "in the club's best interests" apparently.

I fail to see how anyone taking over could have given us less than £1.5m to buy 11 players, whilst selling everything that isn't nailed down.

As reported at the time.....he wanted way more than it's worth AND a share of the spoils if the new owner fixed his mistakes.

How any self respecting SAFC fan can look at his actions and begin to think about sticking up for him is astounding.

Hard to see how he has any business's left. Someone needs to get Quinny back here to organise another whip round.

Yes they do, outside the irrational hysterics of the SMB.

Tell me... what is the opposite of irrational hysterics, then? Pretending it's not happening? Head in the sand whilst your club descends to it's lowest league position ever? Taking a 'glass half full approach' whilst the club you support is being run into the ground by a fool and a charlatan?

That's not the type of support I can identify with - sorry.

You seem to be confusing “having a modicum off perspective” with “defending Ellis Short”.

What perspective do you need to have to think, despite all the evidence, that he's done a good job? Seems like it would require a lot of mental gymnastics to even begin to make that argument.

We were a PL club when he arrived (so he didn't achieve that) and he spent millions upon millions desperately trying to correct his own mistakes year on year.

Now we're on the brink of league one and the most likely outcome looks like relegation. We might be completely bust without a miracle these next two years.

Explain to me again how you're being rational?
