Ellis Short - the worst thing to happen to SAFC in a near 140 year history

Ok... (And please excuse my stupidity).. But he HASN'T, as yet, gifted the football club £110m? He purchased shares for the equivalent of £101m; and there's a debt, owned by the club, of £69m. At this moment in time, he still owns the club and only loses the money if he sells for less than £101m? Sorry if I've misunderstood.

Care to elaborate?

Well, i would argue the Johnson episode was pretty disastrous. I imagine when it all went belly up in the 1950’s was pretty bad as was the period in the 80’s when it was awful.

The fans have clearly had enough of short and Bain and its time for them to both go. Hopefully they will leave of their own free will rather than it turning nasty as it has in the past.

Bain is linked to Short so if the latter goes then so does the former.

I dont know what Short gets out of staying at the club, but he clearly gets something out of it.

Short can only be judged on where we are now. He's the owner and as such is spared the decision hes inflicted on sacking his employees over the years. But the counter to that is hes presided over all the fuck ups & mistakes. Hes made so many mistakes over 10 years yet a lot of his appointments were only given 1 year. No excuses & hes fucked the club more royally than anybody hes employed over his ownership.

The only thing I'm sure of is that Short will walk away with every penny he possibly can.....even if that means us going to the wall.
Thats Shorts and Bains only interest in the club now whether the club goes bust they couldnt give a toss

If he has managed all of his businesses like this how has he managed to make money

Short is destroying our club. It shows the damage that he has done when we have mediocre Championship level players refusing to come and join what was once a great club. The man is presiding over the death of our club and is doing nothing to prevent it. This period is the worst that I can remember in my almost 50 years supporting Sunderland.

Given that Short owns shares worth £101m which are worth precisely 0 if the club goes bust, you may find that 's not the case. He wants his investment back. If the club goes bust, that guarantees he loses the lot.

well for a bloke that wants his money back why is he determined to run it into the ground

Maybe no one can afford it

That doesnt make sense really

Short couldn't get a fuck about us.
Bob Murray when he couldn't afford wages for the team, Drumville who allowed so many players to come in it blew our wages up totally, Keane for signing such dross that we were lucky to get half back

Well the fact both had about same debt at least, at the time Drumville spent money was before football exploded in costs of transfers so wasn't going to be hard to get out of the championship just look at smogs and Villa who alone spend over 50m in championship and are still here.
Vincent Tan is a better owner than Short. At least he cares. Anyone defending this clown can fuck off.

He's simply decided that any large amounts of money he puts in will simply be more money he'll never see again. He's into the club for some where between 10 and 15% of all he's worth, and that's his limit. From here on in, the club has to start paying its way. For what it's worth, it looks like Abramovic (who has a similar percentage of his wealth tied up in Chelsea) has pretty much turned off the money tap there. It looks like there's a limit to how much of their money owners are willing to lose.
