Ellis Short - the worst thing to happen to SAFC in a near 140 year history

How naive do people think this hard-nosed, self-made billionaire is? I keep hearing the "he received bad advice" of "he doesn't understand football" carry on and I'm afraid it doesn't wash with me.
He doesn't need to be Gary Neville to realise how much he's f***ing the club.
Half the business that goes on relating to football clubs probably never ends up in the books of said football clubs. Anyone thinking otherwise would be very naive.

This is not me making an illegal activities statement either the accountants at KPMG where doing nothing wrong when doing Corillions books, or the councillors giving multi million pounds worth of public money contracts to them, or the dividends and bonuses being paid out, you can go on and on. Still stinks mind.

If Short thinks his no investment strategy is the best way to turn the club’s finances around that’s where we’re heading. Spending nothing will bring us a likely relegation and another massive financial kick in the arse.
Short should be really embarrassed at what's happened to his albeit", temporary, club. I wonder what the rest of his business associates think of how he's handled SAFC, I don't think many will be impressed!

Not "in the club's best interests" apparently.

I fail to see how anyone taking over could have given us less than £1.5m to buy 11 players, whilst selling everything that isn't nailed down.
Trying in vain to sell everything. Borini, Kone, NDong, Khazri, Djilobodji, Lens, Rodwell - none of them have been sold and only one of them is still available to for selection even when fit. Oh and we gave away an England striker for nowt.

Agreed like. I have no doubt in my mind it will end in administration.

Will it though? That’s where a lot of clubs have hit rock bottom and then started to build again. I fear that we will just decline while the massive debt around our necks is reduced very slowly so we end up hanging around, say, League 1 for years unable to invest in a new squad and still carrying significant debt. The owner won’t want to write off the massive sums owed to him so I’m not sure administration is an option - we will suffer a fate worse than administration perhaps?

It’s recognising that the bloke may well have made bad decisions - but if anything, his mistakes primarily revolve around spending too much money at times when he probably should have been more prudent. I’m sure that would have been well received on here at the time. I don’t recall this board being awash with threads about what a “horrendous” decision it was to sign Rodwell at the time, for example.
Or spending too much money on shite that you can't sell on.

Best in terms of investment initially, but fuck me he's been absolutely hopeless at owning the gaff/ appointing the right personel which in turn lead to buying some absolute dross to play for us at whacking prices and all the shit that will now befall us for years to come

Terrible what he has done. Totally unforgiving conduct. Asset stripper - which is something considering how done to the bones we are.

The concerts made a loss.......give owa man, i dont believe a word of our 30million a season "loss"
