Ellis not happy about FA/Sam affair

You missed out the part where it says Sam wasn't happy that Ellis only gave him 50% of what he wanted to spend. Maybe if had given him it all then we wouldn't be in this situation

Seriously?

Allardyce couldn't give a fuck how much he'd have to spend - as soon as the England job came up, he was as good as gone. It's the job he's wanted his entire life.

Clause in his contract to allow him to talk to them-couldn't stop him

That's disputed mind, I've not seen any confirmation that he had such a clause, and the echo (I know) did run a story suggesting he didn't. Sunderland's first statement also said that, when the FA approached them, Sam "requested" that he be allowed to talk to them. Again it could probably be read either way but I took it to mean he had to ask because he didn't have a clause

It's been widely reported mate, club haven't denied it so assume it's true. Otherwise I think old Ellis might just have told them to piss off.
"At Sam Allardyce’s request, we agreed to this." >>> That seems more like he asked rather than in his contract it said he could?

Who gives a fuck how Ellis feels, just get a f***ing replacement in and get some signings made ffs
Where does the money come from.
The new TV deal may just about cover operating costs instead of ellis having to help us out with more loans

Not sure how he can think they've poached him when we gave them permission to talk to him.

We should hold out for nearer £5m mind

On what basis?

He had one year left on his contract and I very much doubt he was £100k a week at Sunderland.

The same place every other clubs money comes from.

The same TV money every club will be getting then, when every club doesn't have our £140 million debt, £6 million a year interest payments, increasing wages year on year, losses increasing year on year and increasing expenses you mean? Or the £100 million of debt that Short has converted into equity?

This isn't a computer game that can be reset just because you lose a match.

There's an option to add another smilie marra

I see, so what you're saying is we aren't signing anyone.
I hadn't realised it wasn't a computer game mind, how silly of me.

No I'm saying you should probably take a look at the club's financial situation before banging on making ridiculous statements about player signings.

Im with Ellis here. While I have no issues with Sam becoming England manager and I really do hope he makes a success of the role, I think that the waiting has cost us valuable training and recruitment time. This needs to be compensated and he will get more by being angry about the situation, not by being happy about things
Recruitment, maybe, but we seem to have kept abreast of the training thus far. Of course it means the new players don't get as much time bedding in, but that's not the end of the world.

I'm all for holding out for the best deal I just don't think it was worth all the hassle over the past few weeks. Yes the money we get will go towards a new manager but it's time lost and we are now playing catch up. My only hope is transfer are lined up and ready to come in with all the deals done behind closed doors before managers comes but will Moyes want them? He will want to bring in his own staff and players surely? We are 4 or 5 players short of a good side, need abit more quality yet.

So it's a ridiculous statement to suggest we need to make a signing? Are you sniffing glue?
