Thinking about purchasing one for the commute. Anyone already own one?

Why not just get a bike?

    Wear a mask.
Traffic in town is like smoking

I have all of those. Not worth it for a 3.5km commute.

3.5k is a nice easy jog, less than 20 minutes.

    Those electric scooters are ridiculous.

For such a short distance just get on one of the Santander bikes or walk.

They look a bit daft but probably get the job done.
  10. 3.5km ?

That's a 2 mile walk, 45 mins max, take my dog twice a day for that...

    Why are they ridiculous?

No santander stand near my house.

Walking is just under an hour. I start at 0630 so that's obviously out of the question.

Just mapped it. 4.9k or 3 miles it turns out.

That is a run or a cycle.

I think electric scooters are silly.
In the summer used by the sorts that wear tailored suits with tailored shorts.

If I didn't have a 50 mile commute to the office I'd have one
  14. CatRyan

    CatRyan Striker

    Yes you would

Right and I have done both for many years to the city, marylebone and now canary wharf. As you should know things like nursery etc are constraints on time hence running and cycling both ways is not possible most of the week

I looked at getting a non electric one. I'd probably get heckled by the locals and maybe even beaten up.

Used to have a normal scooter when I used to live/work in town - 3km along the Riverside to and from work, used to to trundle along being the rollerblading ladies

I don't see how a scooter circumvents this?
Unless you mean to save yourself a shower at the other end?
