Egg chasers of the SMB

The Sir Clive show that tour. All about his newspaper column iirc

Shambles from start to finish.

BOD scored one of the best lions try’s ever in that tour mind

I have heard a theory that Sir Clive has built a reputation as an amazing coach when all he did was a) have a really good group of England players available and b) convince the RFU to give him lots of resources. His management speak was absolute bollocks but Wilko understood it, and Jonno took care of the other players by just ignoring it and making sure the team just did everything well and worked well with the specialist coaches. No one paid a blind bit of attention to his f***ing PowerPoint

Hence when he tried to recreate it with the Lions he flopped badly

He got lucky that he had the best group of players ever to grace the shirt. It ironic that Johnson turned out to be such a shit coach but great captain.

I still don’t think I’ve seen a better centre in an England shirt who performed as consistently as greenwood or Dawson at scrum half.

I think Sir Clive was the perfect foil for the players at that time. He was the x factor that the opposition was trying to figure out, with things like employing vision coaches (a bit of skulduggery or shithousery). He also started to bring the RFU in to line at a time when the committee was viewed by themselves as more important than the players. iirc he insisted on players not sharing rooms and also being in hotels where they could rest properly, previously being put in rooms a few floors above nightclubs. It's reported he initially funded them moving out from that hotel by using his credit cards.

His coaching may or may not have been world class, but his care and attention to planning detail was and was what that group of players needed to allow them to perform to their peak.

A rare red card for the All Blacks against Australia in the Bledisloe Cup just now, Jerome Garces again.

Good to see them finally getting their tally closer to where it should be after they've been allowed to referee their own games for so long

even the aussie commentators said it was a tough call. shame as it was looking like a fairly even game.

Ref is letting them constantly collapse the scrum though.

Can’t referee a full game against the AB you know.

Try. Rugby needs a strong Aussie side even if I can’t stand the bastards

Ben teo and Mike brown coming to blows in training out in Italy.

Eddie Jones being his usual wankerish self in the interviews saying I won’t deny or confirm it.

Personally don’t think either should be in the 31 man squad anyway.

I bet if Teo threw a punch, Brown's first thought would be "Hmm, that didn't make as much impact as I was expecting"

Brown probably ran into the punch, avoiding all the space available around Teo

Brown had a throwing knife, but Te'o felt completely safe from it being thrown in his direction

Decent looking squad only concern is the Scrum half position for me.

Ben Young’s isn’t pulling up trees this season and his replacement is a one cap player
