Egg chasers of the SMB

f***ing shambles from start to finish

Jones has to go for me. World Cup next year and he’s taken the team backwards the last 6 months

Bit harsh, before the Scotland game Eddie Jones's record was 25-1 with England. Given where they were after the 2015 WC, winning back to back Six Nations I think he's done a remarkable job.

Teams are actually allowed to have bad form you know, he's not going to win every match with them.

Infact if England had won it this year they would have been the first side ever to have won three championships in a row.

The autumn tests exposed how badly our defence struggled.

Our ball retention has been woeful.

Outstanding achievement for Ireland to have so consistently produced such excellent teams with such small resources the past decade

England's failure to produce at least consistently good teams in the same period given their enormous resources is al it's as impressive tbh
I've been a bit of a cheerleader on here for him, as known him since he was playing minis, but Jones didnt even enquire about Jake Polledri, who made a great debut today for Italy at 7 (he is qualified for Eng/Italy/Wales)

Teams are allowed to have bad form of course. But they rarely get away with doing nothing about it. England had bad form all autumn internationals, they just happened to win.

Its precisely because England has tolerated bad form they're now losing. Yeah we played badly but look 2x games won! Yeah we were bad at the breakdown but we've won our last x games! Yeah we only have one day at if beating teams but we don't need another! No need to mess with things. Yeah we lost to Scotland but it was an off day. And so on. Actually getting better and building a squad has been sacrificed for the form table. A years from WC the squad still needs massive development and the form table provides no comfort what so ever.

Aye he's get the makings of some player like

Said earlier, we need to get rid of Jones. We have been on a downward spiral since last summer.

We got very lucky, against Argentina and the Aussies and that’s down to the player talent we have. He hasn’t got them playing together like a team though.

I called it when bomber was sacked, the RFU should have gone after Baxter.

Our best form against Argentina and the Venom Nonces came when Jones had a specialist attack coach in the squad. The other problem is if we need big bastards in the pack, we need to pick some other big bastards when Billy’s not available. And we need to drop Care. And pick Slade. And Mercer.

You called bugger all you fat kernt, you are pissed off because Ireland handed your hoop to you in an envelope today.

Get over it sham.

Slades had his chances and he hasn’t taken them. Care is a great replacement to bring on but he can’t start.

For me England’s problems stem from the fact we can’t retain ball going into the contact and this means we can’t get quick ball out to the backs.

There’s was loads of times today when we took the ball into contact, didn’t secure the ball from the first support player, had to get extra forwards (and backs) in to secure the ball.

Itoje looked lost today. Haskell’s a absolute has been clown and kruis was missing from the start.

Forgot maku was playing as well.

All in all the forwards got a lesson today and maybe tuialangi needs to be looked at again in the midfield because Teo and Jospeh are clean useless

IMHO Slade has shown enough to get a run in the team.

Jones deserves one more 6 Nations because of the success of the last 2 years. He achieved our first Grand Slam in 13 years, deserves to live off the glory of that for just a little bit. If next year is bad again then sack him before the RWC.

It's a sound argument, but if we get to that point at the end of the 2019 Six Nations and it's still not working, we can write off the RWC either way. I'd still go with your argument tbf, but we'd be telling Jones's replacement <cough>Rob Baxter<cough> to build for the 2023 RWC

I’d have Baxter in now. Give him the time to build up in preperation for the WC

As an Exeter fan I'd hope England don't bother. I suspect the relationship between the RFU and the clubs is always going to be uncomfortable, and the structure is always going to work against the international team. I'd hate to see him walk away from a successful club only to be a sacrificial lamb for the next England failure.

Of course if he goes to England I'd support him 100% and hope everything works out for him

The RFU really should be looking at central contracts for England players.
