He'd be a brilliant player at this level and would get 25 goals no bother.

He'll end up signing for one of the newly promoted teams...Fulham maybe? Played with Mitro at Newcastle.
Height...stature.....???

Think he meant build. IE Ross Stewart is tall in stature but not heavily built.

Was a good player at Championship level.
How long since he was in it? How old is he? How long since he played a full season?
I’d avoid.

Hes spent the last two full seasons in the wilderness hasn't he? Coming up 33? Pretty much three years without being a regular, starting games or scoring goals.

Probably rubbish but he’s a good player at this level and I’d take him
He was a very good player at this level. Done nothing for 3 years though, 32, plenty of injuries as well. He's going to want to secure himself a nice 2 or 3 year contract somewhere on high championship wages, I wouldn't touch him, too much of a risk.
I'd have him back at the Baggies in a heartbeat.
He's done nothing since he left. So not convinced you'd be getting the same player. And doubt he'd want to play for Bruce anyway.
I'd have him here in a heartbeat, cracking player at championship level.
Is or was? 18/19 his last season. 3 years a long time in football.

Far too long to justify giving him a 3 year contract on 20 grand plus a week and a hefty signing on bonus. Let another club take the risk and be the mugs for once.

He'll probably end up like the really good for league one players we bought that turned out to be very average. No idea if he's still any good at championship level. Assuming he played in above average championship teams when he done well also? These sort of lazy 'they've been promoted from this league so must be good' sort of recruitment always make wary.

Yep that's another point. Aside from his injuries, age and that he hasn't done anything for 3 years. He's played for teams who've invested heavily with para payments, who were expected to be right at the top of the league. So that's got to be factored in, how would he fair in a mid table or lower team.
When was his last good goal scoring season and how old is he ?
18/19. 32. 33 in October.

And another thing!!!!!.... isn't this the sort of signing we are so happy to be moving away from? f***ing journey men on an inevitable final pay day. And a mag reject to boot. Imagine the arguments he will cause on here....
Honestly!!! Some people will never learn.
If he scored goals and played well what argument would there be?

His only good scoring seasons are when he plays Championship. Never done it in the Prem.

Someone mentioned the other day about finding the players too good for the Championship not good enough for the Prem. Gayle is pretty much the poster boy of that group.

Shame he is 32.

Certainly been a good player at this level and being an ex-mag would not bother me. Don't think he would fit the profile of what Speakman is looking for (going on previous evidence) and his wages would not be cheap.

Mag mate says we are being linked
Dont know how true it is
It's bollocks. John Anderson was talking about the mag squad on Total Sport and when Gayle was mentioned the caller said they could send him to us. The silly season at its finest
