Dutch league b teams question

I’ve wondered for ages now what would happen if Jong Ajax or Jong PSV etc won promotion to the Eriedivisie from the Eerste?
Would they still be allowed up?
I mean they tend to stay mid to lower table mind but that’s weird - makes you wonder if it’s somehow rigged? 🤣

Explains how well the Dutch develop players though

I don't know, but I doubt they'd be allowed to be promoted.

Nah not allowed to get promoted.

They can't. Same in all leagues that allow b teams in lower divisions. In fact, were Ajax or PSV ever to be relegated, their Jong teams would also be relegated from the division the senior team was relegated to.

I guessed that must be the case. But the games are still competitive no?
Is it like if they finished second the team who finished third would go up in their place?

I don't think they allow them to be promoted at all. If Ajax went down, they jong team would be relegated by default.

Same as in Spain where the likes of Barca B, Castilla for Madrid, Atleti B and a whole host of others could actually win the Segunda Liga and are not promoted, if they finish in the play off spots too then the team below them gets their spot.

I don't know, but I doubt it.

About 20 years ago, Málaga 'B' won the Segunda Division, but weren't allowed up into El Primero.

I used to go along to a few of their games. A few hundred/couple of thousand, little atmosphere, but some great games of football, against some big clubs' first teams. Real Zaragoza, Celta Vigo etc. All on a lovely pleasant evening, in the mid 70s.

Rules will have changed but was reading the other day about Hertha Berlin’s reserve team reaching the German Cup final in 1993, Bayer Leverkusen ended up beating both Hertha teams in the competition.
