Said for a while now, Durham would beat this England ODI side comfortably.
No they wouldn't.
We'll agree to disagree. England have just been beaten by Bangladesh seam bowlers, not 1 spin bowler took a wicket. Embarrassing.
Durham are the current English one day champions (a competition I doubt England would win), I am more than confident we would beat this shambolic England one day team, the very team ripped apart from a seam attack from Bangladesh!!!!
Champions of the competition the England team is picked from. Granted I think errors have been made with England but to say Durham would beat England is ludicrous and holds no substance whatsoever..
Rushworth would get walloped.
I'd back Durham against England like.
It's a team game and Durham have a fanstastic team spirit - led by the only bloke to have ever won a trophy as England captain. COLLY would probably still do a better job than Morgan.
It isn't about individuals, it's about a good team and a good gameplan.
.
Mate Colly didn't do that well as ODI captain though did he
lets not rewrite history here, and I am his biggest fan
we still had the same problems we do now when he was ODI captain, nothings changed
How many trophies did he win as captain?
How many trophies has any other England captain won?
Looking at it from a stats point of view then - humour me with the facts and figures of Collingwood and then those of other captains before and after??
I think we all agree that Colly is the greatest T20 captain England has ever had. The point here is that he didn't do a particularly great job as ODI skipper, and even jacked it in as it was too much like hard work.
He had about a 50% win percentage as ODI captain - only Vaughan and Cook of the modern era had better IIRC. Plus, I don't recall him jacking it in. Shortly after the World Cup win the ECB decided to shake things up and inserted establishment darling Stuart Broad as limited overs skipper.
Purely for political reasons it seems. Certainly not for cricketing reasons anyway.
Incorrect. He stood down as ODI captain

T20 you may have a point though.
