Is he fit for this season? what do we expect from him? bit part player or regular starter..
His wages are to hig fella he will be gone by august if he proves his fitness! We have a new reality and its cheap! And before anybody starts with the abuse its the financial reality we find ourself in !The subtle difference is whatever pond we end up swimming in, be it championship or premiership we are always going to be rummaging around in the bargain bins with the three amigos in charge.

I think he has something to offer if hes fit (big if obviously).

He's got pace and is direct, useful tools to have if we're chasing a game and there's some tired legs amongst the opposition.

Again, if he's fit and good to go then I'd keep.

I'm sick of some of shite on here. It used to be that we'd give players a chance and back them. Now folk are desperate for them to fail, get on their backs and then moan to fuck when we aren't successful.

Watmore comes across as a lovely lad, works hard and had enough skill and pace to look like he could make it in the top league. After 2 career threatening injuries, when the lad needs support, 'fans' can't wait to jump down his back. It's f***ing ridiculous.

Seen enough to know he isn't a professional footballer.

Every Sunderland fan should want him to do well to be honest.
I think as well as hope he will, his injury v Wycombe was down to a thug who the referee had 5 attempts to send off, he will have a proper pre season in, I just have a hunch. It might be blind faith as I’ve lost all hope in Gooch and it doesn’t look like any wingers are incoming.

His first touch was absolutely appalling even before the injuries.

No amount of injury free time or 'good pre-seasons' is going to rectify that.

This is my sentiment also, he doesn’t have the natural ability to be a top pro. He did, however, have pace and was very direct when he had the ball at his feet, which as a defender is the worst type of player to defend against. Big defenders squeezing the line should be meat and veg for Duncan, if we had the player with the capability to make measured slide rule diagonal passes into space.

I would keep him, as we desperately need pace in the team, but he really needs games to get some confidence.

This is all about formations, we need to find the right combination of players that allows us to attack teams. We did this often last season for 45 minutes and then for the other 45 minutes we stayed deep and defensive often conceding.

We really have the opportunity to smash this league with a few additions and tweaking.

We lost the least amount of games last season and we just need to concede say 5 less goals, score 5-10 more goals and convert the previous draws into wins. It really isn’t as pessimistic as some make out on here.

Duncan can play an important part in the requisite improvements noted in the aforestated paragraph.

Ha’way the supporters, believe and get behind the lads.

Never gonna have the touch and composure of a PL forward or winger but then 99.999999999% of footballers haven’t so no shame there. If he can stay fit and hasn’t lost pace then he could have a decent FL career whilst cracking on with his education. Best of luck to him.

Gets a lot of a stick for a lad who has had 2 of the worst injuries you can get in football

Certainly a lot better thn Gooch or Lewis Morgan

He’s got a lot to offer us in this league, if he can stay fit.
Love the idea of his pace when we are so slow in midfield.
I’d play him up front along side A main striker and not out wide.
Lovely lad, hopefully hes here next season we have a lot of crap that are far worse than Duncan.

Furious D ran all over the mags in that behind closed door game apparently then has been on a downward spiral since. End up non league probably in a year or 2

Would love to see the lad bounce back and fulfil his potential, unfortunately I don't think he's built for this division, only a matter of time before some clogger puts him back on the treatment table.
