Was the stand out player for Wigan in the Championship by a mile. I don't know how you can deny McClean is a solid Premier League player. I'm not saying he's great but he is solid without a doubt. Pops up with a few goals and assists all season

But Watmore created a lot today including the goal.

We created fuck all as a team so I dont know how he created a lot. He created the Defoe chance and the goal and played well but more often than not has little end product.

Thats the irony though with Sunderland fans. Watmore will work like a dog, win corners create nowt and the fans will love him. Januzai will look lazy, half arsed but create a clear cut chance and be slagged off by SAFC fans
Watmore created our best two chances and I agree but if you play in a shite side like sunderland , you need to help out your fullbacks . I don't think janazaji is particularly interested in doing that . He's a good footballer though , not suprised Dortmund cut his loan short however .

His first touch is shite and he dwells on the ball for too long when he's under pressure. Did some good things as well but got a lot to learn still.

brought down one long ball pretty well over his shoulder from 40 yards (from memory) I just wonder when people say that he has a poor first touch, do you not include that, or is it just being forgotten?

I just think it would be accurate to say that sometimes his first touch lets him down. No hyperbole.

He's lightyears away from the same quality as Johnson.

everything isn't about quality, the most important metric is effectiveness. Is Johnson a more skillful player? undoubtedly.

But Watmore is showing he can be just as effective as Johnson (must have a few assists so far this season, should have had a few more as he has played some great passes into Defoe who simply hasn't capitalised like you would expect.)

so... our two best chances?:lol::lol:

Our two best chances of the game, one of them resulting in a goal, the other a woeful miss from Defoe ffs

You can have a good touch from one particular ball but generally, it's not good enough.

Watching the game today and seeing the chances Watmore created by his non stop effort and do or die attitude ,I just knew I could come on here later and still read posts from so called experts ,such as dog with a balloon, headless chicken ,needs to get his head up ,championship player .
What a bunch of tosses, doesn't matter how well the lad plays ,how many goals he sets up . PF at its best

Don't think he's very good but has been one of our best players the past two week so fair play to him, hope he keeps it up.

Did Watmore not create the chance from which the goal was scored ? Did he not create the chance for Defoe to miss an absolute sitter ?
Of course he has faults to his game ,unlike most young players ,he's only been full time , for the last couple of years .

Really maturing this season. Has improved his control and passing immensely. Good replacement for Johnson with the added bonus of pace too
He is improving like needs to learn how to shoot rather than pass. A bit like Kirchhoff.

Assist last week and against qpr and would of against spurs if Defoe could have been arsed to move
