I'm thinking of going out for one of the England-Pakistan tests and looking for advice on whether to choose Dubai or Abu Dhabi. I seem to recall someone on here went to AD when Durham played MCC; I expect the Dubai ground's so new no-one's been to it, but just wondered if anyone had any thoughts based on experience? There's 3 days between tests so I don't really want to hand around between just so I can sample both.

where are they playing or is it both cities?

and way more to do in dubai than ad

January 17-21: 1st Test, Dubai.
January 25-29: 2nd Test, Abu Dhabi.
February 3-7: 3rd Test, Dubai.

Then a series of ODIs and T20s which I'm less interested in.

dubai all day long then, far more hotels so chance of getting a good deal for a start

2 hr drive

Hmmm. Wouldn't want to be doing that every day. Guess that either means it's AD or I need to reconsider splitting the trip between the two and maybe staying over in Dubai one night to see the last couple of days of the 1st test.

its the most boring drive in the world anarl

we saved money by not buying a road map, we went to b&q and bought a sheet of sand paper instead
