sliding all over the road.

When you see a sign saying Slow Down it means slow down, but there isn't any signs telling motorists to drive more carefully in wet weather.

whee the fuck takes any notice of those signs man--unless camera noticeable on an "average speed" one

Its lame for such a serious subject.
if the signs were kept up to date we might take more notice of them! On a similar subject how many times do you go though traffic lights on "roadworks" without any work going on? A66 in particular criminal for this!

never

If you need to be told to drive carefully then you should not be allowed a licence!
Take no notice of road signs, that's what they want you to do.

If you're a competent driver, you shouldn't need signs to tell you, your senses should be giving you all the information you need.
If you're hitting surface water and you can feel it starting to let go, then you know to slow down. Tyres are designed to work in the wet up to a certain point, at which they can't shift the water away quick enough and you start to lose grip.
If you're sliding about then you're obviously ignoring what the car is telling you.

I slow down in wet conditions as standard.

If you need a sign to tell you to drive more carefully in wet weather, you should have your license taken off you.

so you have never gone through traffic lights for road works with no workers there? you should seek a discount from your insurers with only limited driving time. One lane restrictions for yonks on A66 without much evidence of work ongoing
Driving is all about having the patience to follow signs.

Why is that in this country people forget road signs are also printed on the road. Lines in the middle of the road aren't there for decoration - whether in the middle or across it they all mean something different. If the road is wet...it's a road sign.

The electronic signs on motorways and A roads sometimes have weather related information on.
