Not bloody Rochdale. No buses and a two and a half mile walk back to the bastard station after a night game there.
Aye it was even a right a pain in the arse for me to get home from last time and I live in Manchester city centre, would happily never go there again in my life.

Thats fair enough mate and I understand your pov, but the lads are doing ok and I feel it would be a no pressure game and the stadium would be bouncing.

Imagine if they pulled it off.

It would be brilliant mate, but we both know the build up would start the week before the game (if not sooner) and we could easily lose focus ahead of league games.

Fwiw, I think we will be playing each other next year anyway, so for that reason alone it can wait another year for me.

The build up would start tomorrow   not the week before

And if we were to win?

The chances of that happening are so remote it's not even worth considering.

Certainly not when weighed up against the negatives of an extremely likely (heavy) defeat.

As much as I don't want it to happen, and as happy as I am with our start to the season, there are levels and they would pulverize us IMO. They are light years ahead of us at the moment.

Some will say it's a no-lose scenario for us but I completely disagree. Regardless of the gap between us in divisions, any defeat to the Mags still hurts significantly. So much so that I genuinely think it could derail our season and all the hard work done to date.

Derail our season wtf?

We should forfeit the tie and concentrate on the league. These cup games are more of a ball ache than they are worth

Why would we get beat?

Get the SOL full and rocking. They are in shite form, we have a very decent young team.

Don't understand why people are shitting themselves at the prospect of Newcastle at home.

SAFC have existed for nearly 150 years. Our geordie neighbours slightly less then that.

From memory our wun loss record is almost level which is a huge achievement seeing as going into 2010 they had a six game advantage...

Now for some reason you want to play the fckers, at home, with one of the worst Sunderland teams we have ever had against their mob that play in the top league!!!!

Youd bring a wooden spoon to gun fight wouldn't you!!!!

Lower league teams never beat teams in leagues above them?

Got no interest in playing Newcastle. Not yet. I know it's the cup and anything could happen. But it's a massive gulf in quality, no matter how shit some may think they are.
