Dream 3rd round tie

london club away or mags at home. preferably spurs but Fulham and Chelsea away would be class as it would be a 10 min walk for me.

Zero interest in watching us get thrashed off a big prem team away, spent years doing that, we aren't Accrington ffs it's not exciting. We wouldn't take more than a few thousand anyway imo.

Why would we get beat?

Get the SOL full and rocking. They are in shite form, we have a very decent young team.

Don't understand why people are shitting themselves at the prospect of Newcastle at home.
Because some on here don’t realise the gulf between league one and the 2 higher leagues. So long as we bow out next round and avoid the mags I will be happy. Was a bit annoyed we won last night but at least we rested a few

Annoyed we lost? Staggering, but each to their own. I'm buzzing we won, confidence will be sky high going into Saturday.

More like not focussed for an important match. Whilst we are in this league we can’t win a cup. We’ve done this twice already messed about with cups and ended up missing the important thing promotion

How won't we be focused? The cup game is gone now, all focus will be on Saturday.

I honestly wouldn't want the mags right now. I'd prefer a NW Prem Team away ideally but that's just me being selfish.
Failing that a team we can confidently beat (anyone on our day!) so we get to the next round. Bring in a few more quid for the coffers

It's still August you daft fanny.

We missed promotion because we weren't good enough, nowt to do with cup runs.
This is a bit off topic but surely cup runs take more out of the players and come end of season it possibly can have an effect? It's not just cups though as the Internationals call ups causing game cancellations cause problems also we end up with games in hand. This means more game come the end of season and again this means less recovery time in the most demanding part of the season.

So this meant the league table wasn't a true reflection of points after a certain amount of games. For example, last season on April 2nd after we'd played 37 games we would have been top on GD with 70pts. However Hull who were top with 73pts had played 2 more games and Peterboro on 72pts had played an extra game so we were in 3rd place.

We'd had 2 game free midweeks before that game on Sat 2nd April. After that we played 7 games in 22 days and won 0, drew 3 and lost 4. Even though the pressure is still on being top with points in the bag, would we rather be there looking down than playing catchup at the end of the season. Add that to the hit of fitness and recovery due to the extra midweek games then do we need to do it all again?

Realistically we won't win the FA or League Cup but may progress a few rounds. The Papa John's may well mean a trip to Wembley again but is it worth it? I'd say for this season, it's focus on the league 100% and fuck the cups, no matter how good and exciting a cup run may be for the club/fans as long term it could mean yet another season in this division!

The Skunks at Sid James Park, as long as the council busybodies, and the Brownshirt Pig Filth at Northumbria kept their Stinking noses and greasy, sweaty, Cadaverous hands off the allocation....
