Both for England and this thread! It's a start.
Yes that would be nice. That whitaker next hopefully. He's a nobber.
Vaughan just said he's willing to talk over the new DOC role there.Yes that would be nice.
Quite how they ended up with the top jobs I have no idea anyway.
Two of them from a bygone era and it showed.
Vaughan, Strauss or hussain work for me.Vaughan just said he's willing to talk over the new DOC role there.
Would be a positive appointment.
It isn't nice to see people losing jobs but at end of day they just aren't the answer.Papers suggesting Whittaker could go tomorrow.
Then MooresThat whitaker next hopefully. He's a nobber.
Vaughany will probably want it and he will be Colin Graves's man.Angus Fraser would make a good replacement for that knob Downton
One down, about twelve to go. Good start though. I really hope KP piles the runs on.
I dont.
Whatever you think about how the KP situation, England need to be looking to the future, building a team for the next 5 years and beyond. KP is 34 now, he was great for England for 10 years but isnt the future. I would rather an up and coming player be given a chance in the squad than bring him back.
Time to move on i'm afraid, pinning hopes on a guy not far too off retiring isnt the answer.
No reason why Pitersen can't play for 3-5 more years. He's still England's best batsman and for me, you pick your best XI at any given time. Even more so in an Ashes summer. It's not like our planning without him has gone great over the past 15 months.
KP was our top run scorer in the last series he played. Whatever way you want to look at it Pietersen is better than both Bell and Root.In recent years Bell and Root have outperformed him though, Ballance was fantastic last summer
I think it would be a mistake going back, but I am not as arsed as I was, but people keep saying he scored the most runs in the last Ashes, meaningless really, they were all shite.
In the last Ashes in 2013 Bell won us the series, while Root has consistently scored runs in the middle order now, he is probably our best player.
Personally I would not have KP in ahead of Root or Bell at 4 or 5 currently, and that is purely based on current ability, and not personalities.
I don't see where else he could play.
