The bookies must be studying the SMB for pointers because they reckon that one or other will win in a tight game, with a draw being the least likely outcome.

37% SAFC
34% Everton
29% Draw

Maximum of 2 goals total?
58% Yes
42% No

WTF knows. We will tonk some team at the SOL this season and Fellaini is a significant loss. Sadly, Everton don't do being tonked (neither do Chelsea at SB  )

Head and heart both say a Sunderland win. ;)

we don't get to the dizzy heights of Chelsea performance wise against Everton. After all this is the Sunderland AFC roller-coaster we watch every season.

OR

Is this the true turning point of our beloved club?

maybe when blackpool play at the SOL.
right now i'm sitting on niall's magic carpet (clippy mat,in my case) and i can feel it vibrating, ready for take off.
tell you what though.i bet the rest of the country are watching, wondering what our next performance will be like.

Prior to last Sunday Did we not have a similar record against Chelsea

exactly, means nowt. I'm quite confident for monday, we've got goals in us and i'd fancy us to score at least a couple.

No not at all but we're class at home. I cannot see any reason why we shouldn't be favourites, particularly after the Chelsea result-confidence will be high, and so will the spirit of the faithful. A difficult but eventually comfortable 2-0 I reckon.

So were Chelsea, sods law we'll lose one sooner or later.

I know where the OP is coming from. However, the lads ought to be high on confidence after the superb performance v Chelsea. The Bruce, quite rightly, has taken the derby result very hard and appears to be sharpened up by it.

That said, David Moyles will have Everton up for the match, more so in the light of our display v Chelsea. Then there's the Cahill factor, that bugger always seems to score against us, it wouldn't suprise me to learn that he's scored more goals against SAFC than he has against any other club (where can that info be found?). I reckon we have to score more than 1 to beat Everton come Monday, it will be a tight match of that I'm fairly sure. If was having a bet, I reckon I'd go for 2-1 to us.

Anyone who would be surprised at Sunderland following up an excellent performance with a terrible one couldn't have been watching very long!

:)

We are 6th in the form league, Everton are 13th. We are unbeaten at home, winning three and drawing three, Everton have won 1, drawn 3 lost 2 on their travels. We have only lost 1 in the last 11 games, Everton have only won one in their last 5. We put a brilliant performance in against Chelsea, a canny one against Spurs and got a good result at Stoke, bouncing back with 7 points after one of the worst results in our recent history. Everton beat Liverpool then interestingly followed it up with 1-1 draw at Spurs and a home victory to Stoke. Draws with Bolton, Blackpool and defeat at Arsenal have seen them stuttering, while we are on a high.

The stats say this has to be a Sunderland win, probably by at least 2-0.

My head and heart say a frustratingly dull 1-0 defeat. This is Sunderland and this is what we do best.
