Donald and Methvan - Intentions???

It’s a discussion forum, so why not discuss.

Donald and Methvan have done an excellent job so far of creating a sense of optimism when us fans didn’t think it could possibly exist. Why?

Is it that they want the club, the fans, the community, to connect and build something substantial, sustainable and reflect our unbelievable heritage? Or - do they want money? Consider their backgrounds.

They walk into failing businesses, fix them, make money. Sell them / incorporate them.

Methvan is a well educated man specialising in PR. We are all buzzing, and why not, we are 4th and in a brilliant position.

Mind, we’ve played pretty poor so far and I’d say had a fair bit of luck.

Is 30,000 plus credited to our tremendous support, aye! Definitely!!!! But, have they played on this to a degree? Exploiting us?

Donald doesn’t have the money to take us from the prem to the top 6, his words.

At this point he’d sell, to Juan. Brilliant plan, or, make a bucket load, then sell (likely. The majority, but keep a small stake in reality), and sit back and reap the rewards while some other daft bugger invests?

Let’s face it, they don’t support Sunderland, or didn’t until 3 month ago. Tony did, and he’s a board member now. Genius. This ensures our best interests are at heart, or, PR genius. Tony is a business man who has worked for levy, I’ll say no more.

Replaced pink seats. Unbelievable PR. (How good does the stadium look!!! I absolutely love it! Is replacing the seats too perfect???)

For me, easy victories or easy to obtain. Could be PR, or good business.

For me, they are business men and and we really need to be run as a business!

I’m optimistic, and very trustworthy! So I’m riding the wave. But these are genuine observations in my opinion and what this board should ‘discuss’.

This post is not an opinion, it’s a discussion point and I really hope it can be discussed reasonably. Let’s see.

(I’ve had 6 cans and my English is shite, deal with it)

I think their intentions are to make money from the club when they do eventually sell up. The only way that’ll happen as if they leave us in a better state than when they found us. So while they are here they’ll be doing everything they can to get this club moving in right direction. I also think the three of them are genuinely very passionate about the club and do want to leave a legacy here.

Haway man, wise up.

If I offered the Don 42 million today, he would take it. Wouldn’t blame either.

I am quite certain they will want to make money, but I'm equally convinced they want to make a real fist of us.
The club has already got under their skin (if they are acting, they should be working in Hollywood) and they already know now, that if they are successful, they will achieve God like status here.
Good luck to them, they really are going to need it.

OP has too much time on his hands.
Cheerleader in his spare time iirc

‘The club has got under their skin’.

Need a trademarked ™️ on here.

He is here to make cash and that is it. Nothing wrong with that by the way, if I was him I would do exactly the same. Sadly, am not. Just a MLF.

My opinion exactly

Aye, stuck on a train for donkeys with only cans to comfort me.

They are business people and football people. They saw an opportunity and have embraced it 100%.

They are enjoying the experience because they love their football and I think they are genuinely excited by the reaction to what they are doing, as well as by the possibilities.

I hope they succeed. If they do, we will all be happier for it and grateful for their input.

Prior to the new regime's arrival were sleepwalking into Lge 1 ….with not much optimism of getting out of it in a hurry....There's a bit more positivity now ..IM(humble)O, and another reason to be slightly more cheerful is that Rodwell has fcuked off..

Definitely! Worth a chat though. What happens if their plan fails? We don’t go up, and don’t next year? Do they stick by us or bail out if it’s financially prudent to do so?

They don’t need to leave us in a better position to make money - it seems reasonably clear they used some debt to buy us so let’s say they only tipped in 20m as equity. They’ll pay off the debt through operating income, assuming no growth sell us for 40, they’ve made 20m. 100% return.
Leveraged buy out.
I expect we will however be in a better position so let’s say they can sell for 50 = 30m profit on a 20 investment I.e. 150% return.
