Dog poo

Couldn’t believe how much dog poo was along the seafront earlier today. Went on a walk from roker to Whitburn and back and it was everywhere.

Thought owners had to clean it up.

Must say that seaham sea front is much better.
Aye the marina was bad anarl. Why can't people just pick it up ffs?

The amount of dog shit on Newcastle Road on way to match on Saturday was ridiculous.
Do non of the locals pick up their dogs shite?

Can’t say I’ve ever noticed it when down the coast, but there’s a secluded back path near where I live that’s like dog shit haven. People obviously think because the path is secluded and out of sight they needn’t bother to pick it up, lazy bastards.

I've never understood that. We live beside the rugby pitches near St. Michael's Church in Houghton, you can see where people have picked up the poop in a bag, thrown it into the trees or over the railings by the road. They then leave the field via the 2 exits where there are large bins🤷‍♂️.
Some people used to do that a lot on my local field. I think it was old people who used to stand in the same spot late afternoon. Leave the crap and it will decay and go within a couple of weeks. Wrap it in plastic and it takes a few years to go. The ground in the bushes where they used to chuck it is still covered in a thick plastic carpet of rotted poo bags. If someone does that every day in the same place, that is 365 bags per year. What do they expect to happen to it? Same with hanging it on a tree. Do they not walk past the same tree day after day and see their old shit hanging there and not think it is minging?

It's not that I refuse to pick it up ,it's more to the fact I physically can't . Absolutely rotten like, especially them big sloppy ones, one of the reasons I wouldn't have a dog
Don't get your post mate. Why would you pick up dog poo if you don''t have a dog and you physically can't? Stick to your breakfast posts - much more entertaining 😉.

I’ve always thought that if they hired thousands of PCSO level coppers they could raise staggering amounts of revenue by catching people not picking up dog turds, using phones when driving, littering etc. If you spent your days driving round Sunderland you could issue a ticket every 30 mins no bother.

Isn't it bizarre that one of the only good things in Sunderland apart from the Football Team are our lovely beaches and yet we allow dogs to roam about on them and shit all over!!! Leaving a residue whether picked up by caring owners or (increasingly) not!!

Remember seeing a Family enjoying fish and chips on the Beach only to be disturbed by a dog off it's lead ..... poor Lassie whose chips were ruined was in tears....dog owner unapologetic...and how many jumpers for goal posts have been pissed on by dogs, I can't count!!!. Only a few good dog owners left now unfortunately!!

Dogs should be on leads at the beach at all times .... Surely Families, i.e People come before Dogs?

I've already vented my spleen about the dog poo issue in previous threads but here I go again.
I'm a responsible dog owner myself but you can't walk 10 paces in Farra and parts of East Herrington without having to dodge dog shite. It's not like most of the stuff is either too runny or of too little consequence to pick up either. Some of the plots of shite dumped look like they were passed by a camel! The dog owners who let this happen are ignorant scratters. It must be horrible when bairns and unsuspecting adults trod through the stuff. Something needs to be done about the problem, though I don't have a solution. More dog wardens, more fines actually imposed? Perhaps if kids are educated at a young age about littering and dog fouling it may pay dividends in the long run?

Ashington was the worst place I've ever been for it, it was like playing Frogger walking down the street trying to avoid turds.

Horrendous in Ryhope. Mainly round the estates but pretty bad in the village and the front street with Asda and that on it.

I see bags of dog shit hanging in trees regularly? What’s the point of that? You’ve gone to the effort of picking it up and then tying it to a tree branch, not as if there aren’t bins everywhere for it either.

Walking past the shops at Pallion there was dog shit everywhere. You couldn't look up you had to keep your eyes on the pavement. Most of it had been stood in and spread further. Are there a lot of strays in that area?

Here's one from the archives about a nice family day out from a while back for me;

Tynemouth is class although it's slightly tainted for me as I nearly had a fight with a tribe of charvers who let their dog have a dump on the longsands next to my bairn. In the no dog part.
They denied it even though I'd seen it plop out and it was still glistening in the spring sunlight, free of sand.

I went full mental doing an impression of a dog snapping one off, calling them all sorts. They eventually picked it up and the lad offered to knock me out, I offered him to try as he was about half my size even though I've never had a fight in my life. Not my finest moment!

Proper red mist, if he'd gone for me I reckon I'd have been in big bother for my actions. My buttons being pressed rarely happens but I can have a chuckle about it now. I would have been howling seeing someone doing an impression of a dog having a dump.:lol::oops:
