Dog names….

My granddaughter named mine. She was four and a big fan of Pepper Pig so the dog is called Betsy after Grandpa Pig’s lawnmower! Suits her. She’s a small black cockapoo - nearly 10 now and still thinks she’s a puppy.

My son named our Bob after Bob the Builder 😁

His brother named him James after his favourite engine in Thomas the Tank Engine 😁

We’re off to pick up a new pup tomorrow afternoon(lovely little cocker) but completely drawing a blank on a name. So far we have Stan
Bert(Bertie)
Gus
Alfie
Beck
Bexley

I’m absolutely terrible at this sort of thing, the wife likes Stan but I’m not made up. Our last dog was called max which is hard to beat for a dog name. I need some suggestions/inspiration before we go and pick him up tomorrow others he’ll leave being called pup as he is now. He’s a golden colour if that helps.
Aww a new puppy, how lush!! 🥰 I think I like Bertie best from your list. 🐶

Ideas from me:
Hugo
Humphrey
Winston
Teddy

I’ve mostly had rescue dogs so they already had names. They all seemed appropriate so I never changed them. I think names often come to you.
My little lad now is called Bobby cos that was his name when I got him.
Strangely, that was my Dads name, (who used to breed and love dogs, and where I got my passion from for dogs), and when I got the dogs birth certificate, he was born on my birthday.
Sometimes things are just meant to be.😁

My ideal dog would be an italian Spinone, if we get one he or she is getting named Vito, so I can sing at him/her when we're out on a walk

Every dog in Sunderland seems to be called Charlie at the minute so I'd avoid that

Was a springer in the street when I was younger called Becks. Always thought that was a good name. Dunno if he was named after the beer or the footballer like.
