Dog names….

Dog in my atavar was Harry. Wise old thing he was.
Can't bring myself to replace his photo with one of three dogs we have now although they are much loved.
We called the newcomers Barney, he's a Spanish water dog, lovely natured and bright; Marnie, a fox terrier that was so badly neglected and abused its took us years and the third is L'il Dave. He's an abandoned Yorkie who adopted me one day. There was some resistance indoors when I said I' didn't want to take him to the pound and was rather tersely I was asked 'Well what ya gonna call him then?'
So I said the first name that came into my head which is my own.
It suits him.

Lovely Mate.
Hope you are well.👍

We’re off to pick up a new pup tomorrow afternoon(lovely little cocker) but completely drawing a blank on a name. So far we have Stan
Bert(Bertie)
Gus
Alfie
Beck
Bexley

I’m absolutely terrible at this sort of thing, the wife likes Stan but I’m not made up. Our last dog was called max which is hard to beat for a dog name. I need some suggestions/inspiration before we go and pick him up tomorrow others he’ll leave being called pup as he is now. He’s a golden colour if that helps.

We’ve had ours two years now kids came up with

Ollie
Monty
Cooper
Dexter

Mrs (no) likes human names and wanted to call him Dave.

My granddaughter named mine. She was four and a big fan of Pepper Pig so the dog is called Betsy after Grandpa Pig’s lawnmower! Suits her. She’s a small black cockapoo - nearly 10 now and still thinks she’s a puppy.

Ours was already named Loki when we rescued him. Dog of Mischief.
Previously had a Fella, Duke and Gyp.

Bixie….she’s a wheaten terrier, not my choice, but ya knar…

Me old dog was a cocker called Danny or “for fucks sake” as he was more frequently referred to

MTebof mine at school had some sort of Scottish terrier. He had called it McTavis, which I thought was a fantastic name for a dog.

Surnames are always a bit different for dogs. Patterson, Hargreaves or Samson/Sampson.

I like the names being different rather than the usual and boring “Scamp” and “Patch”.

Old names like Albert, Alfred, Winston sound good too.

You could name it after a Speyside single me malt whisky. They’re good names for a dog.

Mine is called Jarvis. I just like the name and it is a bit different, and named after a character.
