Probably our most creative player. I don't really give too much of a sh*t if he tracks back enough. Why should that really be his job anyway? Just get him on there terrifying defences and let the defence and defensive midfielders do the job they're being overpaid for, instead wanting to go marauding up the pitch. Lens can be the difference between staying in this division or not. We simply don't have another player like him.
He's not getting game time because of lack of effort and yet Rodwell has been brought on when we're chasing the game! Whilst I do have faith in Sam, that's just b*llocks that, like.
The best players do graft though.
The Barca team of recent years, Shankly & Paisleys scousers, Kendalls reidy era lot, Fergies 'class of 92", Beckenbaur/Muller/Breitner era Bayern & Germany, germany in the last WC, Steins "Lisbon Lions", Revies Leeds, Sacchi & Capellos Milan, early 70s Ajax & Holland etc etc etc etc even Stokoes 73 team & primetime Reidy at SAFC did anarl. The best teams ally craft with graft.
If theyve no craft then graft will have to suffice but the graft has to come first otherwise their just playing at it instead of working at it.

Good question. I thought off topic, or non footy threads got deleted. What's this got to do with south shields
Aye that was a shocker. Live on Setanta. Whitehead should have been sent off for elbowing Cattermole.I said on here a couple of weeks ago that I didn't think I'd ever see a worse game than that Monday night game against Stoke under Bruce but Christ that ran it close.
It's not wrong to demand average premier league standards of every player at Sunderland. I'm in. We want to raise standards and having everyone reach average premiership standard is a minimum requirement. Your point is wrong.I am not sure maths is his strong point however. By definition half of players are going to be below average. It's rather like school performance where minister come out with fatuous phrases about wanting all schools to be above average.
F*ck that. We might as well bring Buckley, bridcutt and Graham back in then. Work hard as f*ck them lads... Doesn't matter that they're not up to the job. They'll come off tired and that's all that counts, innit?
Whilst we're making the likes of Collins, Bardsley and Nosworthy player of the year because they try hard, we're all but f*cked.
Actually, didn't Kenwyn win it once? That twat's even lazier than Lens.
Because defending starts at the front. In their heyday, Liverpool were renowned for defending from the front and they were a top team. We do not have the luxury of having players saunter around the halfway line whilst we are under the cost (take note, Wesley Brown)
God I hope not, Oneill & Poyet's football made the eyes bleed,It can and probably will.
As bad as anything since we were promoted.
a lot of these will be playing at their level next season , keep a few t get us promoted then get ridshameful day that was
For a small period of time Poyet had us playing some good stuff tbf.God I hope not, Oneill & Poyet's football made the eyes bleed,
I can remember when we had graft and no flair. Recently its been no graft and no flair.
I prefer the former but also believe that if you dont graft flair is pointless.

As did MON when he took over
Poyet's was 6-7 month after he took over so that knocks your ridiculous theory on the head.Almost as if there's some kind of repeating pattern which involves the reaction to a new manager rather than any influence he might have.

Carry on.
Aah so it wasn't a new manager bounce? Was that when there were Cup Final places at stake or when relegation wage cuts were looming?
Aah so it wasn't a new manager bounce?
It's almost like the constant struggles tell you we aren't that good. SheeshWe know there are only certain times the players are willing to soldier. New manager and relegation looming are two of them, sometimes simultaneously. Mind you this time round there's not been much of a bounce thus far which doesn't bode well.
