Does anyone... Have a dad nap

Have a dad nap?
Got in from work at 4...showered...made the lad his tea...sat down about 4:45pm...Next thing..woke up 6:45pm!!
Proper lights out!!😆😆😆
I remember my grandma telling me that when my grandad was a miner he would fall asleep when talking to her after a shift. Also he often used to get up for a shift and fall back asleep on the edge of the bed putting his socks on or something. She had to wake him up and help him get dressed he would be so tired. Bloody hard graft to get you in that state of exhaustion like

Up at 5am and bed around 10pm every single day, no napping, I've tried, but something just says nope, so just ends up eyes closed, but no sleep.

Got work mates who nap at any opportunity, in the car too/from work, lunchtime, early evening, just mental. Same with many of the Asian origin lads/lasses, sleep any opportunity and openly admit they try to sleep all weekend, as tired from the work week. Their lives are just passing away either eating, working or sleeping, they do nothing else.

work at sea so used to splits. Early mornings and late nights.

Always have a afternoon nap, but I could sleep on a washing line. Once fell asleep propped up in a storeroom in my younger days

Really shouldn’t because it screws up my eight hours. But the temptation working from home slamming that laptop lid down like you’re drying your kegs at the swimming baths is simply irresistible

There's something wrong with me. I'd love an occasional midday nap, but my brain will never let me switch off during the daytime. I'll sometimes sit with my eyes closed, but my mind will be racing, and I'm never properly asleep.

Used to as a youngish lad when I still nailed it midweek then worked .
Then as Dad to a toddler in my 40s
Rarely now , if I do it's Saturday tea time so I'm not yawning at 8pm
I'm good at them in the chair . Straight off ,wake after an hour and crack on . Hopeless on planes and in cars

Nah, sometimes feel like it but I know if I have a nap I’ll not sleep when I need to go to bed.

Just go and do something else and the feeling subsides.

Me -every day around 2pm
Tremendous-mines a nana nap though
Only about 30 minutes long max but feel great for the rest of the day !
Highly recommend them

When i was a young un i got a job humping carpets around . They were well heavy in those days , wiltons axminsters etc . I literally used to fall asleep in my tea, knocked out proper .

Not intentionally but I have fallen asleep the last few nights sitting on the sofa once the kids are in bed

Haven’t trained since before Christmas due to various injuries and I’m flat out at work at the minute so I’m sure this is contributing to my tiredness

I dont really but I`m a nightmare for sitting on the settee on a night and dozing off watching telly. Wake up freezing at 1 in the morning or something.

I always fall asleep in the cinema even if the film I`m watching is loud as owt

Once the kids are in bed I'm done. Even if I try to sit on sofa for half an hour I'm out like a light

Sounds like me. Never found a way to switch the thing off. Even lie there with my brain making up stories like a dream but wide awake

Once fell asleep in the ammunition loading bay of the 4.5 inch gun on a ship, and only woke up when the second shell was fired.
Very tired that night.🤣
