"I am pleased with it. A lot of clubs have spent more money but I am pleased with what we have brought in. We have got some exceptional talent. If you are in the right market with the right contacts you can get quality players.

"The players couldn't get here quick enough when we mentioned it to them. They want to show people what good players we are. Players have come here too often for the wrong reasons."

Me

Decided to bump this after looking at the mcmanaman thread.

Seems plenty believed it at the time but does anybody believe it now?

Crazy how blinkered people can be in the face of anything safc related despite how obvious the reality of the situation is.

Yes, I believe it.

He had £1.25m and has brought in .

Nowhere does he say that he is happy with the squad, that we are going up, etc, etc. And if he had said he was disappointed he would hav ebeen criticized for being a David Moyes clone.

But I think he has done exceptionally well given the constraints he was under, and if we don't go up this season it wont be down to Simon Grayson IMO.

He is a good bloke, a good manager, who knows what is required to do well in the Championship, is signing the kind of players we need with a pitiful transfer budget, which is a quarter of what Newcastle spent on Javier Manquillo.
Been to many games this season?
Classic superior "attendee" knowledge right there:lol::oops:

Personally I still think we have at least 2 or 3 who are underperforming. McManaman, Mgeady and Wilson should all be capable in this league for starters.

Exactly. the people claiming a squad of players, of which hardly any have spent any significant time below championship level in their careers, aren’t good enough when we are 2nd bottom of the championship is just excusing them. I would hope The players are all be horrified where they find themselves.

Yesterday's performance was woeful, but the thing that pissed me off most was the appalling attitude. Nobody showing for the ball, pulling out of tackles and giving the ball away with no effort to put the mistake right. Not one player wanted to take some responsibility, even the likes of Maja, who should be busting a gut to prove himself. Yesterday was the first time I've actually questioned why I was bothering to sit there in the freezing cold.
