Dodds presser comments

Nah, you’re on the wrong track there mate. The lad absolutely gets info and I’ve never seen him embellish anything or claim to know more than he does or give vague hints at stuff.
Used to, doesn’t now, but can’t let past glories go. Anytime anyone mentions anything tangible, he’s there in 0.5 seconds with his “my source agrees” flannel. Sad crack

Worried me the way he was saying these games were already planned for under Mowbary and that the Leeds game is already planned for to. Seems like nothing will change at all in the way we actually try to create and score a goal and it makes it seem like no matter what happens during or after this weekends game we already know how we will play against Leeds so won’t try to change what we do. He said we know how we are going to play for the next 2 or 3 games whether that’s me or someone else. You can’t hire a new manager and then tell them how to play
He did say the new manager may come in and change that I'm sure.

People should get behind Dodd. The club like him, the players rate him and people are having a pop. He was dropped in the shite by Neil or people have short memories?

I hope that we had been doing homework for weeks now on a new manager, hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. A properly run large organisation doesn't 'close shop' and start the replacement process from scratch leaving a huge void. We had no choice with Neil, but this I trust will have been different.
I'm sure the hierarchy will have had both a criteria of what they are looking for, and list of potential candidates. But it could take time - interviews will be really important - making sure that expectations are clear on both sides as to roles, and buying into the model.

Alex Neil didn't seem to buy accept it at all, (imho he felt that if he got us promoted, then he'd get more of free hand having 'earned it'.
TM seemed comfortable with it in principle, and enjoyed working with the young squad, but obviously felt that summer recruitment hadn't produced the goods in the striker position - at least not one who was 'oven ready'. They'll want to make doubly sure that the new head coach and speakman are on the same page.
