Do we have a "home" end?

Yes. The North Stand. The end that’s always been the “home end” since the stadium opened. The side where our dugout and the home dressing room is.

That’s not taking anything away from the South Stand, where a lot of the atmosphere comes from. The old Roker End wasn’t the Fulwell (home end), but it didn’t stop it creating a lot of noise.

The north stand is the home end. All of the home facilities are that side, we warm up on that side and kick towards it in the second half. The move of the away fans and the marketing of the south stand have muddied the waters though.

Suppose the biggest point of confusion as it’s also the end we’ve just surrendered to our biggest rivals. Imagine Liverpool giving United the kop and 700 hospitality seats

North Stand until 2012 then hasn’t been since, the South then took over. The fact they haven’t changed the dugouts or warm up sides doesn’t change that, it just shows a bit of laziness really that it wasn’t done fully and properly. Home ends are end’s opposite to where away support goes.

You never know this could end up being the catalyst to having away fans back down in the lower bowl, which is something a lot of fans (North Standers in particular ironically) have been crying out for for years after all the missile throwing that’s gone on and to improve the atmosphere.

This owner has just hoyed the clubs soul and traditions in the bin. No coming back from this. He should be hounded out.
