Dissent shouldn't be a sending off

What are the guidelines exactly?
Very simple. Written below.

CAUTIONABLE OFFENCES

A player is cautioned if guilty of:

dissent by word or action

CAUTION

Caution offences include (but are not limited to):

clearly/persistently not respecting the confines of their team’s technical area
delaying the restart of play by their team
deliberately entering the technical area of the opposing team (non-confrontational)
dissent by word or action including:
throwing/kicking drinks bottles or other objects
action(s) which show(s) a clear lack of respect for the match official(s) e.g.sarcastic clapping
entering the referee review area (RRA)
excessively/persistently gesturing for a red or yellow card
excessively showing the TV signal for a VAR ‘review’
gesturing or acting in a provocative or inflammatory manner
persistent unacceptable behaviour (including repeated warning offences)
showing a lack of respect for the game

what gets me is, its a rule, thats fine and then hes been done correctly.

However next match when we are 1-0 against Stoke, one of their players will be balling in the refs face, and fuck all will happen

Disagree. Dissent is on the rise and needs stamping out. Players know the rules. If they mouth off they get a yellow card.
I don't understand how you disagree. The yellow card makes very little difference, a huge fine may be a deterrent.

Or a match ban in subsequent games, but have a game destroyed by a red is a sad punishment for the fans more than the players.

The current rules aren't working

Wish everyone would just blame Neil and forget about it. Neil bad tackle, Neil, swearing, Neil action, Neil stupidity, Neil to blame.

Obviously none of us know what was said but I would be suprised if it was just that's an effin foul.
On the replay you can see Patrik Roberts asking the linesman what happened. He gets told and Roberts clearly says back "he said that" and grimaces.

You're annoyed because it's happened to us, which is why you've only brought this up now but you have to punish the player there and then for mouthing off, not down the line. If it was a Boro player mouthing off you'd be rightly screaming for a yellow card

Ultimately he's sat there now thinking he's cost his team in a (sort of) derby match which should be eating away at him more than a fine would if he's got any ounce of professionalism about him.

The rules are fine, it's the players that keep breaking them that are to blame.

It’s the inconsistency of it that bothers me how many times have we seen opposition players do that, greenwood today? Doesn’t even think to use common sense call the captain over and say if your guy does this again… too quick to get the card out, it’s like he wanted to prove a point, pathetic reffing

Which one did he do?

love to know what he said that warranted a booking. if the ref booked everyone who swore at him during the game he's be the only one left on the field after 90 minutes
This is exactly the point. Nothing wrong with the decision to give him his 2bd yellow.. But why the inconsistency, why pick that 1 to give a yellow out.

Wonder how many more yellow carda will be given out for dissent today.

I noticed ballard starting to steam in and o'nien put his hand on his chest and pushed him away then said "i'll sort it" 😄

Dan Neil’s fault. Absolute moron.
The first yellow was borderline red, knee high, studs up, nowhere near the ball. The ref gave him a chance, and he blew that chance by swearing and gesticulating at the ref. Hence the second yellow. Neil was a very stupid boy, he also has a canistershape and face which has "stupid" pasted all over.
