Disney world Florida

Family of four.

The problem is, the free water is minging
Aye, we went in 2018 with the plan of just drinking the free water but it was absolutely rank.

Iirc in the Disney parks you could pay something like $20 for one of those massive plastic cups then got unlimited free refills and could use them at all the parks each day so they paid for themselves.

Probably a lot more expensive than that now like.

They can recommend what they want. 🤣

Like shite would I tip a server £50 for bringing us drinks.

I always tip 20% on drinks and food and I tend to find you get it back anyway. For example, I must have got 10-15 ‘free’ drinks at our local restaurant over the course of a week

That definitely wasn't available in 2018. I think I remember it around 2003 though.

The cups you refer to you can only fill them in resort hotels.

I'll get nothing back from a buffet I never return to.

I remember a waiter in TGI Fridays following me out the door one day to ask why i hadnt left a big enough tip

From what ive heard its getting worse as well what your expected to tip

If you're going to do it, make your mind up sharp and get the Ferry booked asap. The price of the ferry in the August period quickly ramps up once this summer is out of the way.

Efteling is a quick drive from Ijmuiden and well worth a visit (we're going back this October).

Would say you should definitely do Europa Park as well near Freiburg in the Black Forest area. We stayed a couple of nights on site there which was great. Good shows you can even watch from your hotel room window / balcony. Love to take the kids back there.

Our eldest has also been telling us about a park just outside of Koln called Phantasialand. Looks quite good from what he's showed us on YouTube.

Quite an easy drive between those three actually.

We're doing Duinrell again in October along with Efteling. Don't give everyone the secret of this place though 😂
Think the secret is already out mate, vast majority at Duinrell this year were English, closely followed by Irish. All the restaurants in town were full most nights for this reason (Germans and Dutch tend to barbecue more). It’s the first time this has been the case, English have always been the minority in our previous visits - I kind of liked it that way to be honest. It was 30+ when we were there - a bit uncomfortable to say the least with no air conditioning!!

Might have a look at those other places you have recommended. My kids love Duinrell and particularly Tikibad but the rides are getting a bit lightweight for them now, but I like Netherlands and Germany as places to visit and like to get round the area - had a mooch to Rotterdam this year to take in a Feyenoord match

I get that I'm in another country with different expectations so I'm 'happy' to tip the going rate.

Most Americans don't tip 20% on a buffet though.

Talked to a guy from Chicago in the Disney village years ago , he reckoned he tipped a couple of dollar bills plus any sharpnel he had and that’s all they got.

He thought it was funny the tourists were paying 15/20 % in tips.

Got back from florida last week. Hope you have plenty of $$$$ cos it is ridiculous now, made worse by the exchange rate.
$14 for a hot dog
$5.50 bottle of watta
$55 for a buffet per head and they recommend 18-20% tip. For a buffet.
Massive queues in the parks unless you pay an extra $90 per day in Universal, then they plummet to about 45 minutes. virtual queue for Guardians was nearly 8 hours, unless you wanted to pay an additional $17 to stand in a 1 hour queue

Had a great time though!
I NEVER leave a tip at a buffet

On top of that, we were paying around £100 a day on fast passes etc
That's mental too. I'm not sure if I'll go back while they keep up that crap.

My logic is a small tip to represent drink service and plate retrieval.

Sounds tight, to be fair though - unlike most places, servers are well paid at Disney and it takes a long time to work your way up to a server.

 i’m suprised Americans are happily paying this kind of shit that others are seemingly happy lapping up. They used to do their nut & be riotting if petrol went above a dollar not so long back.
Some blatant swordfighting and flexing and tromboning going on here mind  BLATANTLY.

Remember a long time ago I paid over the odds in vegas for a beer ($4.50) at a bar. Let the bartender (not waiter) keep the 2 quarters change (i hadnt even wanted to tbh) and the horrible kernt refused to take it

We were there for 3 weeks last month, mental the prices of everything now. Spent an absolute fortune. We were tipping mostly 10% this time like.

Even the outlets weren’t that much cheaper, because of the exchange rate that though

Was fantastic though

Mate, it’s an absolute con. Sadly you either pay the money or queue for hours.

We paid $60 to just ride the rise of the resistance. Had we not be paid, the smallest queue we saw was 80mins

We stayed in the resort hotel so yes, it rings a bell that we bought them from there. Definitely refilled them in the parks though, think they have a chip in them that links to your magic band and entitles you to refills whilst your wristband is active. Hammered them in the parks

For that I had to turn up at 6am and join a virtual queue. It was a pain. Thankfully we got a 10am slot.

You had to be physically in the park to get the slot and the WiFi is shit when it's busy, so you needed mobile data, which I didn't have. So my wife booked the slots from the room when me and my son arrived at the park dead on 6am.

You can't do that anymore, at least not officially. The chip thing only works in hotels. I guess if someone disables the RFID it might work.

Top tip.
All of the self serve pop machines (that you use to refill your plastic cup with) do free cold water and ice. Use these instead of the water fountains. Also a lot of the fast food places in the parks give you Fred ice water if you ask b
