Disney world Florida

You're right.
With the £ currently @ $1.14 it's horrendously expensive.
On the plus side the theme parks in Florida are head and shoulders above any in the world. You pay a hefty premium for that though.
Its awful, the currency makes everything about 25% more expensive that "the normal", and then they've raised prices by about the same again across the board lately, so its a solid 50% more for the holiday that it was 5 or so years ago.

Mind, you can get a last min deal from about £700 per person at the moment. Whether you can actually get into the parks or not is a different matter though. I hope @two_strap has booked his disney park days already if you're planning on going to WDW?

Just back from a month in Sarasota.
Don't bother with theme parks any longer.
The biggest cost is eating out. Couldn't believe the price hikes post COVID. This coupled with the exchange rate .. 😱
We rent a condo for a month so have the option of eating in if we want.

It's an exhausting holiday mate, but we'll worth it.

We disappeared on a day trip to Miami just to get some rest. Being an Only Fools and Horses fan, I was in my element cutting about on the Everglades in a hovercraft

Best advice I could give you though, is if happen to go into a 'Hooters' bar make sure you do not take the missus, or if you do make sure you have your sun glasses on. I learned the hard way lol

I'm trying to talk the missus into a driving holiday through northern europe next summer. Ferry to amsterdam, then drop in a 3-4 theme parks as you drive towards DLP, then 3 nights there.
Ferry back to south coast, and maybe 1 or 2 parks on the way home that we woudn't usually be able to visit due to distance.

I think the kids would love it - 10 days at theme parks in about 16 days, and never more then 2-3 hours driving on any day.

If you're going to do it, make your mind up sharp and get the Ferry booked asap. The price of the ferry in the August period quickly ramps up once this summer is out of the way.

Efteling is a quick drive from Ijmuiden and well worth a visit (we're going back this October).

Would say you should definitely do Europa Park as well near Freiburg in the Black Forest area. We stayed a couple of nights on site there which was great. Good shows you can even watch from your hotel room window / balcony. Love to take the kids back there.

Our eldest has also been telling us about a park just outside of Koln called Phantasialand. Looks quite good from what he's showed us on YouTube.

Quite an easy drive between those three actually.
Go to Duinrell which is only about a half hour drive from Ijmuiden. Good theme park and an amazing water park, also next to a beautiful little town which has loads of nice restaurants and the best ice cream shop you could ever find. We are booked up for this summer and will be our 4th visit.

We're doing Duinrell again in October along with Efteling. Don't give everyone the secret of this place though 😂

Wtf is going on in america atm with regards to Tourism.

Until a few years ago part of the attraction was that it was fairly cheap to eat / drink / visit great places / get around.

As I understand it in the zero covid honeymoon period they are now pulling the piss (imo) taking peoples eyeballs out for eating out, theme parks, transport, car hire, price of alcohol ??
no expense spared.

Thankfully mate, we have.

It’s been a bit of a chew on but will be a good trip

Got back from florida last week. Hope you have plenty of $$$$ cos it is ridiculous now, made worse by the exchange rate.
$14 for a hot dog
$5.50 bottle of watta
$55 for a buffet per head and they recommend 18-20% tip. For a buffet.
Massive queues in the parks unless you pay an extra $90 per day in Universal, then they plummet to about 45 minutes. virtual queue for Guardians was nearly 8 hours, unless you wanted to pay an additional $17 to stand in a 1 hour queue

Had a great time though!

We’ve just returned and I was canny shocked at prices. I reckon we spent £7-8k in two weeks

Its crazy prices for Florida at the minute for my family of 3 adults 4 kids to do all parks your looking at around 14/15 grand for a two week holiday and you can add another couple of grand on when your looking at spending money as well

Ive been 6 times and love the place but these days its just crazy prices and nothing is cheap over there anymore

You can try and be smart, I’ve seen numerous people paying $5 for a water when there’s free water fountains everywhere to refill a bottle

Get your point about water, but that’s just a fraction when it comes to your total spend.

Prices are scary now compared with even five years ago.

Yeah don’t get me wrong it’s mega expensive. You need a decent wedge to go with
