Disney world Florida

Looking forward to our trip in August to Florida, but we aren't going to go to any Disney parks this time.
Universal, Seaworld (won't be watching the shows mind and wasn't even keen on paying for tickets but gave in to the demands to go for certain rides) and Busch Gardens will be what we do. Spending some time in Clearwater along with just looking to chill by the pool at a Villa for a few days instead of park after park.

You might have this covered mate but definitely recommend a night in one of the universal premium hotels. You get 2 days worth of fast passes included. Was an absolute godsend for us last July.

We used to go every year soemtimes twice a year until 10 year ago. 14 day freedom passes (all parks + Busch) used to be £435. Absolute bargain. Just now I’ve paid £1600 just for 14 days Disney only for 2 adults, 1 child and 1 free child.

Yeah those were the days, cant get anywhere near that price these days

You're right its already covered. We're finishing off in Universal at the Hard Rock Hotel (stopping 4 nights) so that we can get rid of the hire car so won't have to fork out $30 a day for parking, plus we get the Express Passes obviously. Means we aren't going to those parks at all until those final days as the passes mean you get on things with barely a queue. Freed up time for us to do other stuff such as Clearwater, Tampa and just chilling by the pool at the Villa etc.

Been a few times, but not since 2019. love the place but it’s just so expensive now. Every year we price it up and get close to booking but have a late change of heart. Prob have to wait until the kids bugger off before we go back 😀
 
Been on some great trips there over the years. Some of the family have made noises about going back but at 4 and 1 I just don't think the kids would get enough out of it to warrant the cost.....yet
 
I love the place and do miss it but as said here before its a 6-7k holiday for us these days and thats before spends

Obs could do it cheaper my not doing Disney but i know the kids would really want to go
 
I don't mean to be rude about this, but, um...what is the appeal? I'm American, have kids, and the idea of going to Orlando - the sphincter of Florida - and paying a lot of money to be crammed together with a bunch of disoriented sunburners and a bunch of people in sweat-inducing costumes seems like rather the opposite of a good time.

My kids think its the best place in the world, that’s enough for me

We love theme parks and the ones in Orlando are top quality.
