DISCUSSION THREAD - May and June 2023 - Theme "PILES OF THINGS"

Lol shows what I know.
Like your comp pic by the way setting a high bar ..and interesting to see the civic centre being demolished at last . Jack has seen it all ..what will he be looking at next?
It was luck that I stumbled across that snap. I went out for an early morning wander on Friday and Mowbray Park probably isn't somewhere you want to be at 6.30am. I went up to the statue to take a photo and spotted the backdrop.

As Oz used to say in Auf Wiedersehen Pet "Ah Donkey Shite".

Just a few pics I 've taken along the Spanish coastline which has taken a bettering from sea and wind erosion over the last couple of years. The sea defences are made up mainly of massive rocks piled on top of each other, here is an example of the rocks being piled up (their height here is about 6 feet).

The sea and wind gradually find weaknesses in the defences and gradually find a way of weakening them.

Eventually the defences take a complete battering and they collapse leaving them looking like a pile of rubble, with somebody's garden disappearing and the railings slipping into the sea. The disgraced Ukrainian President (Porochenko) actually used to own the holiday home I have taken a picture of. But as I can only post 3 pictures in one post, you will have to wait to see the result.

I have just submitted a couple of entries but agree the competition is tough. Here's another I took recently in the village of Benahavis (Spain) which is just north of San Pedro. It's a pile of rocks with the green mountains behind.
