Not sure why it just can't be called cricket manager or club coach because basically that's what the job description is.

Director of cricket!!!
If the club is a registered company with Companies House then you have a Board of Directors who each have an equal vote to run the company

I'm assuming South North are in this boat so hence the Job Title

General cricket clubs aren't registered with Companies House and have a Committee to run club. They shouldn' lt really use the term 'Director' and go along the lines as you suggest 'Head Coach'

An overview of their financial situation as of 2016 accounts

The salary for that job is £18k! For what is effectively a part time job given the hours required is not too bad

I'd very much doubt he would be on a company board. Jon Lewis isn't on Durham's.

Enjoying VoFP's contribution. :D

The role has gone pretty much part time hasnt it. Previously was full time and they have now reduced cash and hours. £18k will get them a decent top order batter probably!!

Yeah I know South North are a proper registered company, but I heard and read the term a lot recently in the local papers when there is a write up about team news ahead of the weekend.

And a few teams are now calling somebody their director of cricket, which like you say is really just their coach.
