There was first half.
His full backs were needed in the centre and the two on the bench were clearly only fit enough for 20 minutes. As he doesn't think Anderson is ready he has literally run out of options. But like I've said. He chose to defend the wings with Clarke and Roberts alone. Why didn't he play a back 4 with them infront as wingers and double up to stop crosses?
This. Just didn’t have the tools to deal with it. We all knew we’d have to score to be in the tie. This sort of performance was always on the cards. See Stoke, Hull etc.
We don’t have the personnel, due to injuries, to cope with a high press and direct football.
Give us a full squad and a few quality additions and it’ll be another good year next season.
Utter bollocksI'd sell Neil.
And that's his choice to ignore Anderson. The knock on effect that has on Roberts and Clarke is down to him and makes us toothless. His full backs were needed in the centre and the two on the bench were clearly only fit enough for 20 minutes. Yeah, Neil's been great but he's had to play as a CDM since Evans got crocked and so we've not seen the best of them, those three taking turns to sit and push on would great & very fluid & yeah Ekwah being left footed provides a great balance.Very balanced, the emergence of Ekwah has been terrific.
Put him in a side with a striker and some centre backs and we won’t get bullied. He can play too.
Me neither. In fact I would be looking for players built like Alese and Ekwah. A couple of small players are fine but the majority need to be big strapping lads. Every Champo team is full of them.I wouldn’t sign Michut
Worked a treat on Saturday. And that's his choice to ignore Anderson. The knock on effect that has on Roberts and Clarke is down to him and makes us toothless.
Was it worth it? Not for me.
Ekwahs passing today was erratic to say the least. His headed clearance for their second was almost a perfect pass to their player as wellMe neither. In fact I would be looking for players built like Alese and Ekwah. A couple of small players are fine but the majority need to be big strapping lads. Every Champo team is full of them.
What would you have done differently?Mowbray made far too much of the height and created the narrative like poyet did with the pitch at Bradford. He then decided to play our best players as wing backs and kick it forward all first half.
We've tossed it away tonight. They're shite.
The height is relevant but a pitch 5 yards shorter and 2 yards narrower makes bugger all difference.Playing bouncy ball and tussle with blokes 5 inches bigger than you on a small pitch is never easy . Just look at the two goals , the scorers came through our bodies like missiles for both . We just didnt have the mass to prevent it .
Thought we were a bit unlucky with the general rub of the green , second balls etc . Is what it is, full team out we'd have got a result
Debatable though. Luton were garbage all 2nd half and we didn't create near enough.Worked a treat on Saturday.
Jack clark and others are better would be the reasons and he is a kid that isn’t really getting any better ?Why?
Said hundred times. A back 4 and played the 6 foot 3 centre back we have. Get clarke and Roberts on the wing causing havoc like always and doubling up defensively to stop crosses. What would you have done differently?
Alese in for Pritchard and go 4-2-3-1?Said hundred times. A back 4 and played the 6 foot 3 centre back we have. Get clarke and Roberts on the wing causing havoc like always and doubling up defensively to stop crosses.
Instead we left them at wing back alone with no help to stop crosses.
AgreedDid not see us buckling at all like we did first half. Expected a whole lot more all round tonight. Picked the worst time possible to put in a performance like that. Attacking players very dissapointing. Gutted.
