He got found out once the Quinn and Phillips partnership broke up. The tit also let stubbornness dismantle a team. His treatment of Summerbee and Makin was disgraceful. Mind, he had history, just look at when he dropped Kubicki for Hall, then pretended he didn't know the significance.

Mind, those four seasons, ending with the second of the two 7th place funishes were fantastic. Going to every game knowing you had a chance no matter the opposition was class.

Great times but the game left him behind.
What he did for our club far outweighs what he didn’t do. He gave us all a great time, remember where we were when he arrived at Roker Park and rolled his sleeve up and shook his fist at the Fulwell End.
We were staring relegation in the face.
He was great for our club.

Agreed. But that's not what the topic of thread is. It's about if/where he fucked up.

My point is, does it matter ?
We should be grateful for the great times he gave us.
When any manager leaves a club it’s because the good times stopped rolling, he is no exception but we should remember what he did for us and remember him as a man who loved the club and gave it his best.

Signed so much shite, heaps of it.
I think in his last couple of seasons only Reyna & maybe Bjorklund were OK.

Medina, Laslandes, Haas, Flo, Peters... so much waste

I would be surprised if any of those names were the club’s first, second or even third choices for the positions that they were eventually signed for.

Give it a rest ffs. You are like Feckin toothache.
Are you pissed. The thread is about where Reid went wrong and your response is does it matter, we had a great time

Next thread about when we lose, and people ask why, we can all say does it matter, we won a different game

Who knows. We were after Laslandes for a while IIRC
Regardless, none of them were up to the job
