I'm excited about Diamond but at 19 yrs old..perhaps a 6month loan before turning him loose on the opposition after summer? I would also be more than happy if the played every other game or so from the bench. Hope we can sign him on a new deal.

Goochy pisses all over him. Diamond lower league 2 at best.
'Goochy' exactly reflects our demise in the last 4 years.

He can't even command a regular game in League One - what the hell were we doing playing him in the Prem

His talent was always obvious. My gripe with Henderson at the time, and it persisted for a lot of years at Liverpool too, was that he simply didn’t take responsibility enough or really show his ability. At Sunderland, he always looked to be playing within himself and relatively safe.

We wouldn’t have written off Gareth Bale. This is just silly talk
There was a time at Spurs when every time he played , they lost . We would definitely have sections of our support writing him off.

He's 21 next week.

He either starts looking like a footballer or starts looking for another career. He plays for a mid-table League 1 side.

I think we'll see more from him with a more mobile right back behind him.

As improved as Connor McLaughlin has been this year, he's better at centre back than right back.

I think with O'Nein or Sanderson at Right back, he'd have an overlap and more space to work with.

I thought him and McLaughlin looked a decent enough pairing the other week.

The lad has talent. He needs time in the first team to mature - some games will better than others at first, but I think he'll become a key player.

We really dont have time for that, we need to get out of this league.Mature to what an average Div 3 player? nee disrespect to Div 3 players like

We've got to get rid of this pretty pathetic mindset. We've been desperate for 3 seasons now to get out of this division and ended up with a a shit, slow and Unbalanced squad. The development of younguns in and around the 1st team should always be a priority regardless of the division we're in.

Dont agree with you,thats all.

He's played a handful of games and been MOTM in at least 2 of them. He's doing well.
That's fair enough - the post I was responding to was suggesting we send him out on loan before "turning him loose on the opposition". It's too late for that - the time is now. And besides, loaning out young players to the lower leagues is what you do in the Premier League. This is not a good level of football - either play your way into a career here or think about doing something else with your life.
Think we’re playing Hull on Saturday.
Thought that was just a daft suggestion from on here?

Won't make it to the top level. A decent player for lower leagues although he was crap today. When really good players (Henderson for example) come onto the scene you can see that they'll be exceptional straight away.
I’ve not seen this kid yet but youre spot on otherwise. Henderson, Gray, Venison, Rowell, Elliott, Pickering, Park, Stronach, Bridges, Arnott, Hume, Ord, etc looked at home almost immediately. Lathan, Ryan, Gray etc never did.
If they’re not comfortable at this level even in an average L1 team like wot we are to it almost certainly nivver will.
Not that I’ve any faith in the last few managers judgement either.
This seasons gone. We‘ll have a new manager in the summer. Hopefully he’s under instruction to give the kids a chance becos half the first team squad won’t be here next year regardless.
Some said Colback was better
That thread is at the root of a lot of the problems on here. Those that thought Colback was better should be marked on their ID as such so their opinions on footballers abilities can be ignored by the rest. It’d save a lot of pointless bickering.
