Di Canio - I was right to ban ketchup

I wouldn't be so sure tbh.

A lot of the best managers, Clough/Ferguson/Shankly, etc were borderline crackers.
It was all about him,had to be centre of attention all the time.Add to that the fact he was a nutter and you had a recipe for disaster.

I wish I could find the interview Matt Ritchie did when PDC first came to Sunderland, think it might have been for Football Focus, quite enlightening and unfortunately prophetic....

There's only really Allardyce that I would expect to have implemented something similar and he was hardly a bastion of professionalism. Certainly don't think MoN or Dick would of given a monkeys.
Two managers who've enjoyed a lot of success in their careers? Sorry but can't agree with that mind. Far too much is made of this whole Di Canio the 'disciplinarian' IMO. I don't think there'll have been too much different to a lot of mangers other than way he approached it.

Was a different game in their day mind but fair enough.

Keegan?

I wasn't talking about their tactics.

The issue with Di Canio for a fair few on here, though, is that they completely ignore the results he got.

Save for two wins he was shocking and we looked very very poor. I don't think anyone can find fault with him identifying a lack of professionalism at the club, but he was utterly bereft when it came to fixing it.

Ever thought the players wanted him sacked because he blasted them

Had PDC kept in house. he may have got more respect

Grayson bascailly saying the same 5 managers down the line

Both are still managing now.
IMO Di Canio is a chest thumper who likes to shout aloud about his methods as if he's reinvented the wheel. Apparently O'Shea was the ringleader in the Di Canio saga and he'd played most of his career under Fergie up until that point. I can't imagine sir Alex giving players much leeway.

I meant since he left Newcastle a decade ago.
That was a ridiculous appointment and keegans best days were well behind him. All managers have to have a last job it's inevitable.
