DevOps and Agile - Anyone know this stuff?

Agile is just another way of saying something hasn’t been thought through properly and the product that comes out to fix the short term problem causes long term damage in my experience.

Exactly. Seems like an excuse for project leads, analysts and end-users to not have to think about what they really need. It's a bit like what we used to call proto-typing, a methodology which we got rid of about 20 years ago as it led to too much project-creep. In 10 years time agile working will be seen as old hat and we'll be back to another re-packaged methodology when the industry reinvents itself and charges more money for more training courses. Not that I'm cynical.
