We are playing in 2 leagues this year - the Felling league and the Vic Halom Cricket League; and the formats are as follows:

Felling League - Teams: SMB, RWE, DASL, EAGA and Engineers. We played in this last year so you'll all be familiar. All fielders (bar wicket keeper) must bowl 2 overs and batsmen retire on 25. No LBW. Games will be played at Houghton (SMB and RWE) and Felling (DASL, EAGA and the Engineers). Sadly, St. Cuthberts had to drop out as the league they played in is now played on a Sunday. Which means no trip to Bearpark.

Vic Halom Cricket League - Teams: SMB, RWE, KJ Old Boys, Brandon CC and The Knights. New league, with one unknown team to us and 3 teams who I thought were good standard last season. So, basically, I picked them! The club captain of KJ Old Boys picked the name, so if you find it cheesy, blame him! Anyway, no bowler can take more than 3 wickets, and in the event of a bowler doing so, he must be taken off after completing the over in which he gets his 3rd victim. Maximum of 4 overs to be bowled by any one bowler. Batsmen must retire on 50 but can return once all other batsmen have been dismissed. Games will be played at Houghton (SMB and RWE), Belmont (The Knights), Bishop Auckland (KJ) and Brandon (Brandon CC).

Any friendlies (only 4 thus far...) will be standard 20/20 rules unless otherwise stated.

Please refer to the fixture list sticky for opponents, and what league (if applicable).

I appreciate that in the Vic Halom League, it may seem unfair on bowlers if they take 3 wickets in their opening over and are then hauled off; but I wanted to keep it fair. It's no fun watching the ball be smacked to all parts by a couple of good batsmen and it's equally no fun watching a good bowler skittle you out for next to nothing.

Awesome stuff andy well done.

Is their a cup in the vic halom league and is their fees to be paid for trophys at the end of the season ?

I see that Durham University are warming up for their fixture with SMB CC by taking on Durham CCC in a three day game. This will be a good test to see how far we have come ;-).
