Derbyshire v Kent

At Queens Park, Chesterfield. Abandoned without a ball bowled. Due to a wet outfield.

Derbyshire have played a few games there this season iirc and this isn't the first time that a wet outfield has caused lost time. The worst thing in cricket is when there's no play despite clear conditions.

Any thoughts at all on this? Not a great advert for outground cricket.

Same happened with Middlesex at Uxbridge last week.

Playing at outgrounds is fine, but common sense is required. Ridiculous scheduling games to be played at outgrounds during September, when there's gunna be rain around and the drainage isn't as good.

Durham have now said they're only going to use Chesterfield "during the core summer months".

Should've been that anyway, the sodding idiots.

Still, it denied K*nt a win, so I find it amusing

For a minute I thought Chesterfield was a new way of saying Chester-Le-Street.

Kent have since contacted the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Nobody likes a grass......

I don't want anyone to get punished, but it's disappointing

Matt Walker there, bit f***ing rich isn't it? Don't want anyone punished, yet we've reported them to the headmaster anyway.

Fat shithouse.
