Denying yourself or the principle

Really fancied a packet of MCoys flamin steak crisps. £1.25 a packet. Outrageous. They were £1.09 yesterday. Didn't buy them out of principle.

Have the smb been in the same situation where you have denied yourself something even though you could afford it? 🤔
Very regularly. I buy the least expensive tassimo coffee machine pods at B&M even though I can afford the x8 lattes at £4something.
Thatchers Gold is only £2.96.
It’s £4.20 in one of our locals yet it’s still the cheapest option. Loads of people guzzle it down even if they prefer lager (Carling is £4.50, madri is £5.50).

I prefer lager but I reckon I would be drinking Thatchers with those options.

Shopping about is normal , I'll walk away on principle . I'll drive further to an option if the staff aren't very good etc . I've put a basket down and walked out before .
Then you have not taking the easy option
Spoons
Amazon
Ebay
Etc

I boycotted Shell petrol once because they were the first to put prices up. But then I could not be bothered to continue my protest.

Its too much hard work to be outraged.

Watching the bairn play cricket at Raby Castle last year one sunday morning I went to go get a bacon sandwich from the cafe. Was absolutely starving but when I seen it cost a fiver or something I didnt get one and settled for a twix or something.

I must know you from there like. Are you talking about when Elaine had it.
It was mate aye. I think it was Craig had it when I first moved over this way and we started getting in there. Then I knew Sarah who took it on at one point. I'm sure there are other people in between then and it becoming the Stumble Inn but my memories of being in aren't always the clearest

I wouldn't. I can't stomach cider. I learned at an early age that there is a direct correlation between drinking it and throwing up.

Drink cask ale. It's usually the cheapest option. Still £3.80 in my local where the trendy lagers and are over £4.50. Don't mid a Neck Oil occasionally but not at £5.20 a pint (and over £6 in more expensive places). I think it's being deliberately priced high to make it look like a premium beer.

I will not buy anything made in China, it is difficult but I try my best
Make no mistake, they are out to take over the world, economically, or militarily, one way or another ,they will do it
It is the aim of their current govt.
i do the same and you're right it is difficult.

I absolutely refuse to use drive thrus. If you're going to shovel a thousand calories of shite down your neck then at least motivate yourself enough to get off your fat arse and walk to a till to order it.

Never used a drive through. Don't see a point in them. I don't want to eat while driving and it would be cold by time I got it home so going to the counter and eating the meal inside seems the most sensible thing to do. Even if I just wanted a drink on a long drive it's nice to get out to stretch my legs for a few minutes.

The advantage of the drive in is that you can sit and eat it in your car meaning you don’t have to sit inside with all the people and their screaming kids

I don't knowingly use Amazon. Certainly wouldn't click and order anything for delivery. I realise my tiny protest won't make the slightest bit of difference. If only everybody else cared.

Didn't watch a single minute of the last World Cup because of where it was staged. Didn't miss it really.
You deffo sound a man of principle marra. I doff my cap. Wish I could be so stubborn
