Denver Hume

James was a clear weakness yesterday and much of their play went down his side as a consequence. For a spell this season he was keeping Oviedo out on merit but looked out ofoit yesterday. He is often playing behind McGeady so doesn't get the same support as O'Nein usually does. Hume did ok but wasn't on long enough to judge and it was a different game by then. Defensively, only Baldwin did himself real credit constantly getting a header or a boot in - his clearances could improve for sure but he did his job. Flanagan fucked up massively for the second goal, flapping his arms about instead of getting in the right position to challenge. McLaughlin more or less had to come out with that going on. Flanagan had a poor game. O'Nein showed his lack of positional awareness a few times and I am always expecting him to give a cheap penalty aaway. He contributed well going forward in the first half particularly and throws himself in the way of the ball.
Apart from their first goal? Sorry second.

Said on another thread, it was quite nice when he made that one little mazy run to see the number 33 jinxing around on the left side of our team.

Humey-o
Always believe in your soouull
You've got the power to go
You're indestructibbbuuulllll

because you dont pick players that arent match fit..you play them in the reserves to get match fit..then they train and then they play..oviedo hasnt been very good for most of this season..

So why hasn't he been made available for the reserves or the developments squads, however you want to put it?? I'll tell you why because if Oviedo was up to match sharpness, Ross would have no justification for leaving him out. As I said previously...

I have no idea if Oviedo is genuinely injured, if he is claiming to be or if Ross is claiming he is.

Glad to have you around though with your inside knowledge.

No inside knowledge. Ross has acknowledged himself that Oviedo recovered from his injuries but is lacking match fitness.

It’s all to go with money isn’t it ? If he makes one more start we have to pay Everton over a millio , not sure about the exact figure but we can’t afford to play him , manager couldn’t pick him if he wanted to.

I think that's just a rumour that has sprouted up on here. Don't believe there's any sort of evidence to suggest it's the case.

Not true though. Rodwell was a coward. Oviedo is fit but just needs minutes to get up to the speed. Ross won't play him even in the u23's though because he's too stubborn. He would have to play him and admit that he's got it wrong.

Ovideo has repeatedly told the press he wants to leave since he signed for us. The problem is we pay him too much so nobody will match it so he won't leave so will sit on it until either someone does or his contract is up.

He had a chance to leave (with us paying towards his wages) and the move fell though so we got the blame and he immediately got 'injured' for months with niggles etc.

I can just imagine him sitting on the treatment table now with Mcgeady asking him if he's playing at the weekend. "No chance"

I thought that was Flanagan but if I'm wrong then I have been a bit tougher on Flanagan than is fair and Baldwin let himself down there. Haven't watched it back yet
Aye it was Baldwin that made the error for the 2nd

He reminds me of Patrick Van Aanholt in his style of play. I like him for this reason. Loads of people will hate him for this reason.

I'd play him on Wednesday, definitely.
Yeah he is quite a lot like Van Aanholt now you mention it, just ghosts past players.

Same, I thought he played well and was unlucky not to create something

I never got the criticism of PVA, he is one of the best going forward, and we had like 8 other defensive players on the field

Ones who take risks often get more criticism strangely, Johnson used to get loads too even though he was only one trying to create

Not sure why he hasn't signed a contract like

JR doesnt manage the reserve or development sqauds..its those managers who pick the team..as another poster said..i think oviedo is another rodwell..

I think so yeah.

He will be desperate to stay like so must be some sort of issue

He is raw but I like him, its what we should be looking to do, develop those

People moan about Honeyman, I think he is a lot better than Gooch, but if we sold him tomorrow we'd probs get a bit of cash for him.
