disagree totally.

He looks poor defensively but not bad going forward. Not ready yet for a consistent first team start.
That is my view. Its almost like he'd be more suited to being a winger or at least a wing back. Most of the games he's played this season he looks suspect defensively. I keep saying we have scored in every game bar one so scoring is not the issue. Our biggest problem is in defence.

I'm not saying he sets the transfer budget. I'm saying that he would have been happier if Oviedo's wages were off the books.

He isn't injured. He is severely lacking game time. Ross has already acknowledged this.
i thought ross said he was back fit but then picked up a little injuury, then another...so not match fit.

we have the third best defensive record in this league..if that was our biggest problem we would be higher up the table. our biggest problem is lack of creativity..

Correct but he is no longer injured. He's been back in training and only isn't playing because Ross isn't giving him the game time he needs to get up to full scratch again.

We'll just go back and forwards here - we have scored every game bar one but struggle for clean sheets.

so if he isnt match fit, you play him in reserves etc until he is..
and he hasnt been that good all season..he is a rare thing, an safc player with a big reputaion that people on this board like..
npormally on this board its about why arent we playing the kids/other obscure guy rather than the big name..

Ovideo must be on a canny appearance fee. Only way his exclusion makes sense.

yes but we dont score enough..and our clean sheet record got much better when dunne signed..ross has said his teams usually do score a lot but because of how he sets up..usually conceded as well..

or the fact he is not match fit?

So why isn't Ross giving him the opportunity to play the games he needs? That is because Ross is being stubborn because he knows that when Oviedo is fit enough, there's no justification for him not playing.

He made a great run but then inexplicably failed to play in McGeady in the first half of extra time. He does carry a threat going forward but doesn't look up to it defensively.

This. Nowt to do with injury but Ross being stubborn and not using him as he couldn't get his wages off the books in January. We'd be a lot more solid defensively and have a much more attacking threat with Oviedo back in the side. I'd like to see Hume play more though. Much prefer him to the mediocrity of James.

I have no idea if Oviedo is genuinely injured, if he is claiming to be or if Ross is claiming he is.

Glad to have you around though with your inside knowledge.

Hume was better than James. We are poor defensively and need to play with attacking intent from the outset in games and ensure we are comfortable, before our inevitable in-game brain fart!

because you dont pick players that arent match fit..you play them in the reserves to get match fit..then they train and then they play..oviedo hasnt been very good for most of this season..

we are very good defensively for this league..concede fuck all goals..but that comes at the price of stifling creativityy.,, which means we score fuck all as well..

Janes was awful yesterday and don’t think Hume much better at present.
we know james is good enough to win promotion from this league..he is not a problem. hume is learning...people whine and moan about not givig the kids a chance then denounce them quickly...absolutely filthy attitude.

We are so pedestrian at times, and when a team wants to have a go like Pompey did yesterday and Accrington, and a few other sides we look pretty insecure. When we take the initiative in games (i.e. after we went 1-0 down to Walsall), we are far better when we advance our fullbacks up the pitch and split our centre halves with centre mid dropping back. It allows McGeady, Gooch, Morgan to play in the areas of the pitch they are most impactful and not suck on the halfway line, having to run half the pitch to get near goal.
