Denver Hume

Bad game today. But he’s just a kid and will off days. Oviedo is better obviously but he isn’t staying so, Hume is worth sticking with in the team to see if he’ll develop into the player they think he will

Its amazing how we never lose when everyone reckons our players all play shite

Nah I like Hume

and what has contract got to do with it?

Oviedo don't want to be here

Hume is desperate to stay, blame that on the club.

The contract situation doesn’t have a massive deal to do with it. But, if the argument was that we were to persist with Hume because he is going to be the player for that position long term, then I’d possibly go along with that idea. However, as it doesn’t seem like there’s much movement on that front and Oviedo is a much better and more complete player at present, then Id play him. He may not want to be here, but it hasn’t particularly been reflected in his performances.

As an aside, I’m fairly sure you’ll be aware that I’m not a paid up member of the ownership unconditional fan club. I’m skeptical as the reasons why the likes of Hume and Embleton have not yet got new contracts. It can’t always just be agents

Saw him against Porto U23s and he was exciting going forward. And atrocious defensively.

Nothing I've seen since has changed that first impression, really.

Maybe he can improve defensively. Maybe he can't. But at the moment, he's not good enough.

How many points have we picked up since Oviedo come back in the team? I know we beat Rochdale but since then our form has nosedived

He was only a sub that day! We beat Doncaster that’s it. Him and mcgeady or Morgan cannot play down same side. It’s been obvious for so long we have the right players for 5-4-1 or 5-3-2 but barely tried it. But what do we know in Jack we are supposed to trust

I agree. We should have a formation that best fits the players we have available at the time. Play 3 CBs and wing backs. Oviedo and 09 are perfect for that role as is Hume.

It’s not a bad role for Matthews either and gooch was fine the times he slotted in.
Mcgeady or Maguire could get around wyke in 5-4-1 or they can be the second striker in the 2 up top. I think loovens would’ve been ok in a 5 also and would’ve helped the other 2 burks with his experience and they could’ve done his donkey work. Aaggghhhh love hindsight me

This should be our plan for the summer, train all pre season on this formation regardless of which division we're in.
I think we could get a pretty good team out:
McLaughlin
O'Nien, Flanagan, Ozturk, NEW, Hume
2 of Cattermole/Boots/McGeough/Power
NEW
Wyke, Grigg

or
McLaughlin
O'Nien, Flanagan, Ozturk, NEW, Hume
NEW, 2 of Cattermole/Boots/McGeough/Power, McGeady
Wyke
