I'm getting my teeth tomorrow...I've only tried the wax ones and I couldn't talk, so wanted to know how long it takes to talk properly,
because not only do I have to speak properly by Tuesday, I also have to be able to sing by Monday.

I'll take a mean average of estimates.

My missus has one false tooth that she only wears when we go out anywhere - she's had months to get used to it but still has a touch of the 'Eubanks' when she talks whilst wearing it.

I was explaining the concept of dentures to my 13 & 10 year old daughters just last week, while taking about the importance of dental hygeine/taking care of their teeth. they thought i was taking the piss.

Used to be fashionable apparently. Whereas looking like you've been brushing your teeth with bleach seems to be the fashion now.

When my Mam was pregnant with me, one of my Aunts (married to my Dad's much older brother) told her that she should get herself to the dentist, get all of her teeth out and get some dentures made as it would be free because of the pregnancy. She'd had it done when she was pregnant with her first child.

My mam looked at her as if she was daft, but apparently it was fairly common at the time of my Aunt's first pregnancy.

My Mam is approaching her 80th birthday and still has all of her own teeth.

It was , people used to get all their teeth out as a 21st birthday present according to my old mam .

Your lass will be happy about it all
We split 10 days ago so at least I don't have to worry about what she thinks :D
When I got my partial I whistled a little for about a fortnight when I spoke but it wasn’t very obvious to others
There is hope 👍
Is there any chance they stop you talking on the internet?
Having my teeth out didn't stop me...so no, I'm sorry about that.

What country was that?
Thanks for all your answers, but I think I'm Royally screwed.

England in the 30s, before NHS dentistry teeth could be a hell of a bother

My mother got 2 false teeth in 1932...she was 12. She was the youngest of her siblings by ten years, her five sisters didn't have false teeth. I don't disbelieve you, this is just what I know.
