Dennis Cirkin

Suppose it can only be good for us, if he starts getting international games 📈
Yes, having him fly around the world and risk picking up injuries in crunch who-finishes-bottom-of-the-group ties between Ireland and Gibraltar, or getting utterly walloped by France rather than resting would be a huge feather in the cap for SAFC.
It would be good for our bank balance to potentially have to pay him a large chunk of money for gaining international caps if he has that clause in his contract also.

A real win win scenario. 🤞🤞🤞

I agree with the point you're making, however, "the Model" of selling players off once we've developed them works better if they are internationals, even if it is for countries unlikely to qualify for international tournaments. Can add a few more £££ to the fee we would ask for if a prem club comes calling.

The last thing that lad needs is more games to get injured in. He’s already injury prone, needs to get that sorted before thinking about adding internationals to his game.

I’d give it this season to assess both him and Alese’s fitness and availability and then make a decision in the summer about replacing one of them if they can’t stay fit.

Might even be a few quid owing spurs if he becomes an international. Im sure there will be an england cap clause , not sure about ROI or Latvia

We made the mistake of not specifying with Phil Bardsley and had to pay him an extra £1m for playing for Scotland back in the day because nobody thought he had a long lost Scottish grandparent so nobody thought to specify which country. Hopefully we were a bit wiser with Cirkin as it was known before we signed him that he’s half Irish

Is a part of it going from age group football to the rigours of Wed/Sat Championship football and their bodies adjusting? I could be talking complete cr*p

TV exposure. A good showing against Spain, Germany or Italy could see him attracting interest from ower there and residing in Madrid, Munich or dare I say it…….M***n!
